The officials issued mandates against the “privileged” having any types of guns or ammo. As everyone knows, mandates are not laws, they are simply statements by a person that are enforced as a law. They did not want the “working man” to be able to resist the “oppressed” from taking what they were entitled to. Gang members that were caught committing crimes and turned over to the police. Well the police had not only been found out to be releasing the gang member, but also returning their guns to them and even more ammo.
3 letter government agencies were even making it a crime to speak anything against the official narrative. Dave wondered whatever happened to free speech. In the big cities, officials were even evicting the working man from his home and giving it to “oppressed” people.
Dave was working in the small field he had been able to spade by hand for their garden. In the distance he could hear a helicopter which was coming closer. He sent Mae, Mike and Granny for cover in the basement as he took up a position of defense. The helicopter came to a stop and hovered over his place. He saw something get pushed out and it dangled on a parachute as it drifted down to the ground.

Dave crouched lower as the object drifted down. When it was about 20 feet from the ground, he heard a voice “Dave, talk with me. Get this radio.”
Looking out from behind his cover, he could see a rectangle shaped object just hitting the ground, with the parachute laying to the side. The helicopter had now moved higher and was hovering there. Grabbing a long pole that was nearby, keeping an eye on the helicopter, he poked the object and moved it around. He heard a chuckle coming from the radio followed by “a wise precaution but I just want to talk.”
Watching all around him, his FAL tracking all around, he used 1 hand to pick up the radio. To him it looked like it was military issue. Finally keying the mic, he asked who they were and what they wanted. The voice said they were Sergeant York of the US Special Forces and they wanted to land and talk with him.
Dave got on his small radio that was used to talk with Mae and the rest of the town. He told her what was happening. Then he called the Sheriff for backup. Meanwhile Mae left Mike in Granny's care and was crouched inside the cabin doorway with her M16, supporting her husband.

Dave told the Sergeant to wait til he was told to land. The man acknowledged and said Dave's backup looked to be about 2 minutes to arrival. When the Sheriff and townsmen arrived, they spread out around the field, some looking inward and some outward. Then Dave told the helicopter to land.
A man in military uniform and wearing a green beret got off and approached Dave. Again the man introduced himself as Sergeant York of the US Special Forces. Said he was sorry that it had taken them so long to get here, the weather had stopped them, so they had to make a trip to Alaska to eliminate the problem. That it was time for Dave to make another video, to encourage the people because he was a national hero.
Dave told York he was no hero, he was just a regular working man who was tired of the corrupt system and just wanted left alone. York said that is exactly why you are a hero. You need to do a video. Dave told him he had no electricity or phone, they had been shut off last year. Sergeant York said they were working on that, in the meantime he wanted to bring in a generator and fuel for Dave.
York said they could deliver it tomorrow by helicopter. He told Dave that the entire US Special Forces and the Marines had rebelled against the officials and their evil orders. The Army and Air Force, the good guys had been kicked out over the last few years. The Navy was about equally divided. Many ships were controlled by the good guys and had been having at sea battles with the official ships.

For the record
#1 I am NOT anti-government. I am very pro-government. God ordained government, I am very much in support of that government. Jesus Christ said government was supposed to be rewarding good and punishing evil. But nowadays it is mostly the exact opposite. As an older man, at Federal, State and Local levels, elected or non elected officials, mostly what is being seen is corruption. The people, men and women, that are supposed to be serving “we the people” are now acting as if they are kings lording it over the peons under them. Evil is now being called good, and good is now evil and gets a person fined or tossed in jail.
#2 I do NOT hate women. But as an older man, I have experienced, seen and heard of many things that women are doing that is evil. So it has become basically my trademark to base my stories on a woman doing evil things to her man. There are so many examples of that, sadly it gives me much story material. As an older widower of 6 years, even women close to my age are horrible. Online dating sites, at work, at church or in stores – its nasty. Are all women nasty – NO! But the very few I have seen are married, so that is no good for me. Plenty of women, married and single, young and old, slim to overweight, they are offering me just sex and partying. I want a relationship, not just sex. Its bad enough that I have given up actively looking for a woman. It has proven to be a waste of my time that I could be spending on doing something productive.

Back in the day I think that people just talked about it less.
The thing is, the middle-sized kids would figure out what their relatives were up to, and then they would talk about it to their friends. So I did not grow up with a terribly favorable opinion of the older generation.
My opinion of humanity as a whole has actually improved some, as I have known many people who wear themselves out for uncounted years, because the people they care about are are relying on them. But I have always been aware of the folks who are dishonest users. I have worked both WITH and FOR people who are in both groups

The next day Dave was ready when he heard several helicopters coming. Looking up he saw 2 with cargoes hanging below. Dave was talking with them over the radio they had dropped yesterday, telling them where to put the 2 cargoes. The 3rd helicopter was staying high as overwatch. The townsmen were gathered at Dave's place to help out.
The cargoes were just touching the ground when the 3rd helicopter asked Dave why his men were in the treeline at the edge of the field. He said there weren't any of his men in that area. The 3rd helicopter said thermal showed a group of 16 men.
The cargo nets were released and their helicopters flared away, the 3rd helicopter came down fast and Dave saw Special Force men jumping out as Dave and the townsmen took up defensive positions. He yelled at Mae and Granny to get into the basement.

As soon as the Special Force guys hit the ground, they came under fire, Dave's 1st impulse was to go join the battle but he knew his duty was protecting his wife and son. So he took up position near the cabin. Some of the townsmen stayed with Dave and the rest moved in a flanking maneuver.
He could hear the sounds of full auto and the single cracks of bolt action rifles. There were several grenades exploding and a lot of yelling and screaming. No one came near the cabin. The battle lasted about 10 minutes and then silence. The townsmen maintained watch as the Special Forces men checked the attacking force bodies.
1 townsman had been killed and several more had injuries, the Special Forces men were okay. Their medic was already working on the townsmen. Then they started bringing in the attacking force bodies, 15 dead and 1 prisoner, all US Army. The prisoner was tied to an overhead beam in the barn entrance.
Mae, his son and Granny were up out of the basement and providing water and bandages. The 1 Special Forces man pulled out his pouch of chewing tobacco and he saw Granny eyeing it. He quickly apologized for offending her. Granny told him she was only offended because he didn't offer her any. With a bemused look, he passed her his chewing tobacco and watched as she took a big wad of it and put it in her mouth and gave a sigh of happiness as she started chewing. The Special Forces man shook his head and just knew his buddies would never believe this when he told them about Granny.

Dave looked at the dead bodies of the attackers, 8 men and 7 women. The guns had been picked up and all usable gear had been gathered. He walked over to the prisoner, it was a woman. Her hands were bound to the overhead beam at the barn entrance.
She had hate filled eyes and was trying to kick everyone that came close. Sergeant York had 2 of his men grab her legs and tie them together, then tie 3 cement blocks to her bound feet. She could stand but no longer kick.
Sergeant York started questioning her. She just glared at him, then she saw Granny standing nearby. The prisoner laughed and said the “rebels” were weak if they were tolerating useless eaters like that old woman. The prisoner spat in Granny's direction. Granny walked closer until she was about 3 feet away, looked the prisoner in the eyes and then spat a big, juicy, slimy stream of tobacco juice onto the woman's face. The prisoner screamed in horror, then was sobbing and saying she needed a “time out” and a “safe space”, this was offending her. Dave was chuckling and saw Clyde walk up. Before Dave could say anything, Sergeant York saw Clyde, stretching out his hand to Clyde said “Striker, how have you been? Its good to see you again.”

Dave had a confused look on his face as he looked from Sergeant York and Clyde. Sergeant York laughed and said Striker / Clyde was ex Special Forces and was their local man who cached supplies for active Special Forces in case of bad times requiring them to get their supplies from some place other than the government. Said Clyde about had a heart attack when Dave brought in a crew to build a bunker and stock it full of ammo and Clyde had to get Dave to move the location of the bunker so that the original bunker wasn't dug up. Said that is what brought Dave to their attention to begin with.
Dave, York and Striker went back to the prisoner who was still sobbing and demanding her “safe space.” Striker took out his pair of gloves and used them to slap her across her face. She was in utter disbelief that he had done that. Striker started asking her questions and demanding answers or he would turn Granny loose on her.
They were US Army and had been ordered here to kill Dave. Dave was the most wanted terrorist in the country. After getting all the info they could, she was told she had disrespected a valued older person and had committed treason against “we the people” by trying to attack and kill a citizen of the US.
The prisoner said she was just following orders and therefore was not guilty. York looked at Dave who said I order you to kill her for her crimes. York told her, see, I'm just following orders. She went crazy screaming that lowly peons weren't allowed to do things to us elites. York put a bullet between her eyes. The Special Forces got the generator and fuel set up they had delivered while Dave was editing the video he had been recording the whole time from the start of the attack to the end.
Again Dave hacked into the evening TV news report and showed the video of US military attacking its own people. He also explained how the officials had used weather warfare against him in an attempt to kill people. Again the video of US hero Dave went across the nation. Other countries watched it and were outraged the US officials would do such a thing to their own people. Ironically, China was the 1st country that placed sanctions on the US and were refusing to ship anything to them. Considering the fact that A LOT of the US food, medicine and supplies came from China, this would hurt the US in a big way.

China kept the sanctions in place for 30 days, watching the ensuring chaos. The people were so used to the cheap in price Chinese supplies, that when China stopped shipping goods, store shelves emptied quickly and in 2 weeks there was very little in the supply chain to send to the stores.
Even the US officials were finding it hard to get things for themselves. Then China offered a deal. They would lift the sanctions and resume shipping goods if the US would abandon Taiwan, Japan and Australia to Chinese takeover. China wanted several States in the mid west to be given to them so they could be used for growing food and shipped back to China. The US had to reduce their military by ½ and pull all troops out of the Middle East.
The US officials discussed it for 60 minutes and then agreed to the deal. Officials were quickly checking the balances of their offshore bank accounts and saw that their balances had all grown by millions of dollars. When Dave heard the deal was accepted, he knew it was going to get really bad for freedom.

The people were in an uproar over China going to get 3 States in the mid west. Especially the people that lived in those 3 States and knew that they would lose their homes, homes that have been in their family for generations. They weren't even going to get paid for their homes, it was for the “greater good” of the country.
Dave knew he had to put out a new video and encourage “we the people”. He called for the people to not give up, increase their efforts to resist the evil orders from the officials.
In a few days Dave got a call from Sergeant York telling him to be watchful. That he had already called Striker / Clyde to get SAM ready.
