Granny was making some of his favorite meals to eat – pintos beans with bacon chunks, turnip greens, red beets, hog jowls and homemade cornbread smothering in honey. YUM!
Yum, except for the beets. My maternal grandmother was one of those unique women that could cook anything that would be unbelievable in taste except as far as I was concerned - beets and rutabagas are only fit to feed to the animals, but my two sons would clean the bowls.
Getting back to DC, he walked into his office and saw Lian standing there and Li on her knees next to him. She was sobbing and was repeating over and over that she was so sorry.
Now i did Mae get caught doing something that she shouldn't have been doing.
Another chapter to reveal...
i, it is pleasing that you computer started working again. Thanks for the chapter.

Dave tried comforting her but she just sobbed harder. After 15 minutes he was able to calm her down enough to not be shaking. He asked her what was wrong. With trembling hands, she held out her smartphone to him.
Dave took it and looked at it. His face went white, then it turned red with rage and his hand was clenched at his side. Then he became super calm and looking at a trembling Li, asked How?

iamnobody - this is an excellent story. I do hope I can hang on to this cliff a while longer though. It's hard to hold on and drink coffee at the same time.  |

To save sniper69, I wrote another chapter.
I used satellite imagery and saw him hanging over a cliff. The right hand was holding the cliff edge. His left hand was clutching his coffee cup.
And his toes were working the laptop keyboard, placing an order for Appalachian takeout food of baked possum innards and turnip greens.

Later that evening Dave was sitting with his wife and son at supper. Mae was telling him about all the function / parties she had gone to in his absence, about all the connections she was making with people. Dave gave Mike the package of dried sliced apples and strawberries that Granny had sent for him and he was happily munching on them.
Dave got Mike his bath and read him a bedtime story which soon made him fall asleep. Mae was on her different social media while he was sitting on the couch. Later she said she was headed to bed and Dave told her he was thinking about something, to which she shrugged and went to bed.
Next morning found him waking on the couch but a big smile on his face. He told Mae that he had some trade talks that day and wanted her to sit in on it and listen. She was all smiles about that.
At 11AM she was seated with him in the office for the meeting. It was with the ambassador from South Africa. His name was Gunther and looked like one of those men from Hitler's super race programs. He was 6 feet 3 inches tall, 220 pounds of muscle, blonde hair and blue eyes and carried himself with a superior military bearing.
Dave rose and shook his hand and introduced Mae to him. Lian and Li served refreshments and took their place in the back of the room.
Dave said “its get down to business, I'm sure you are a busy man.” Dave said if he would look at the wall screen. Eyes turned to the large screen which was showing a naked Gunther and Mae. Mae was referring to her husband Dave as a pathetic, geeky cripple that she detested and telling Gunther to show her what a real man could do to her. The screen showed Gunther taking her.
Gunther jumped to his feet only to find Lian's M16 pressed deeply in his back, which caused him to freeze. Mae jumped to her feet and made for the door to leave. Li swept her feet out from under her and dragged her back to Dave by her hair.
Mae started crying and sobbing, saying it wasn't what it looked like and she could explain. The video was still playing on the wall screen, showing her eagerly doing things with Gunther that she had never done with Dave.
Mae continued “it was a mistake, it was just 1 time, she was drunk, Gunther brain washed her, blah, blah, blah.” Dave told her to shut up. She looked at Gunther and asked if he was going to let Dave speak to her like that. You said you were taking me back to South Africa to be your wife and we would have all that Chinese god to live on.
Gunther told her to shut up, she was just a stupid bimbo. Then he made a move to go around the desk for Dave while reaching inside his jacket. Gunther was just pulling a pistol into view when Lian placed a kick along side of Gunther's head.
The kick was intended to knock him out but as Gunther fell, the edge of the desk struck his temple, killing him instantly. Mae was struggling to reach her lover but Li had a firm grip in Mae's hair. Dave looked at Mae and told her to leave, that his son Mike was staying with him. She spate out that Mike wasn't his son.
Dave gave orders for the doctor to come and do a DNA test. The swabs were quickly done and the doctor said the results would be available by morning. Dave had Mae locked in a small room under heavy guard, no phone, no social media, nothing. Bread and water as her food. He also gave orders for Gunther's place to be searched.

But then my water supply would all be coffee flavored. LOL And the downside is? I don't like watered down coffee. So I drink strong coffee and then water, then more strong coffee, and more water. Of course those possum innards and turnip greens were tasty. glad the order made it to me as I was able to get off the cliff for a chapter. Then back on the cliff for the next chapter. I'll keep typing with my toes until I get to read the next chapter. LOL  |

That night Dave didn't get any sleep. His marriage was a de ja vu of his 1st marriage. The guards were on high alert because of the South Africa ambassador dying and due to the fact that Lian and Li were out on a mission to search the ambassador's place. He was being encouraged to eat something but his guts were in turmoil and it felt like they were tied in knots. When the doctor had taken the DNA swabs, he also insisted on STD tests for Dave. He was praying that Mike was his son and that he had no STDs.
At 10 AM the doctor came back. Dave had Mae brought in to hear the results, she looked a mess. The doctor said Dave was clear of STD but would need tested again in 6 months for AIDS and HIV. Then the doctor told him that Mike was not his son. Dave turned his steely gaze upon Mae, who turned pale.
He asked Mae who was the dad. She said it was possible 2 guys from back in the Appalachia. He wanted names. It was brothers, Chad and Tyrone Badboyz, they lived in the trailer park and played in a heavy metal band in a big city. Dave remembered the 2 guys, it was a known fact that they were no accounts, into booze and drugs.
Mae started her crying again and saying she was sorry. To give her another chance and not to throw away the years of marriage. They could get counseling and work through this to become stronger.
Dave told her he did not need counseling, he wasn't the one who cheated. He said that if he hooked her up to a lie detector test, he wondered what other evil deeds would come into the light of day. She paled but she insisted there was nothing else. She told Dave that they had wonderful times and they could be that way again if he gave her another chance.
He told her that whatever men she had been with before him was her business. But once they became a couple, then that was his business. Dave told Mae that she was polluted. That all he saw was a diseased, worm infested cesspool.
Mae's crocodile tears dried up and she told him he was a pathetic crippled geek loser. She was glad she had cheated and had loathed Dave's touch. That her divorce lawyer was going going to take him to the cleaners and she would get everything of Dave's. Mae was smirking at him.
Dave smiled back and then told her she must of forgotten that the corrupt officials had been done away with. That she had committed the crimes of paternity fraud and of cheating. She was no longer going to be rewarded for doing evil by any court system.
Then with a huge smile Dave told her he had found the different bank accounts she had, where she had been bleeding off money from him and building her fortune. He said he had transferred all the money back to his account. She paled at that because it had been millions and now she would be penniless.
He told her effective immediately she no longer had access to anything of his and she was to leave within the hour. Dave told her he did have 1 last present for her. Many hands grabbed Mae and held her down on the desk. Dave leaned over her and then her screams could be heard all throughout the White House. After several seconds she was let up.
Dave held a mirror for her and she saw a huge capitol letter A branded into her forehead.

The good women I have seen are married.
I thought I had a good woman with my late wife. We were both what would probably be called super right wing conservative Christians. Think modest ankle length dresses and skirts, all prim and proper. Cheating on a spouse wasn't even whispered about, let alone done.
Then over the years after her death to find out during my time with her, there were at least 5 or 6 men, possibly a woman too and recently found there is a high probability that 1 or both of her sisters knew about her cheating and never said a word to me about it.
Little tidbits still keep popping up after all the years.

Mike might be a reminder of Mae's actions but is totally innocent in this. Dave is the only father he has known.

It is my opinion that those far-right Christian groups do not always produce healthy women. My own upbringing was Christian, but I do not think that I would have done well in a HIGHLY conservative Christian upbringing: my own upbringing was about as conservative as I think that I could tolerate.
That is my opinion, and everybody has one.
However NOTHING justifies catting around. Just.....NO!

While Mae was packing, he had her vehicle serviced with oil change, lube, fluids checked and gas filled. In 1 hour and 15 minutes, she was packed, vehicle loaded and her and Mike left. With a heavy heart, he slowly made his way to what once was his marriage bedroom.
He ordered the bed replaced as he viewed it as polluted. No way could he sleep in that bed again. He looked through the closet and dressers, seeing that she only took her fancy, high society clothes and shoes. All her old work clothes and shoes had been left. Dave ordered her things to be donated. He then had his lawyer work on a quick divorce and to have his name removed from Mike's birth certificate. The doctor had done a pregnancy test on Mae before she had left which showed negative, and since they had not had sex in 8 weeks, he knew she couldn't claim she was pregnant by him. He shuddered in disgust at the thought of having touched that harlot over the years.
Mae made it back home by evening. The first place she stopped was at Chad and Tyrone Badboyz place. They had some food, but it was only some baloney, bread and a case of beer in their fridge. Mae explained what had happened and that Mike was actually one of their child. Mae put Mike to sleep in a corner of the living room. The rest of the night was Mae, Chad and Tyrone sharing a bed in many positions until falling asleep.
She woke up in the morning, hearing Mike calling her. After tending him, she looked around for Chad and Tyrone. They were nowhere to be seen, the closet was empty of their clothes, the case of beer was gone and their car was gone. Mae realized she had been used and dumped.
She put Mike in the vehicle and went on home. Granny was surprised to see her, then asked were was Dave. Mae spun a story about Dave abusing her, tortured her and kicked her out. Granny stared in disbelief, then picked up the phone and called Dave. Dave told Granny what he had found out, that he had video of Mae with another gut and he wasn't the dad of Nike. He said Chad and Tyrone Badboyz were the possible dad.
Hanging up the phone, Granny got Mike settled on the couch with a coloring book, a glass of fresh goat milk and homemade chocolate chip cookies. She told Mae to follow her outside to the woodshed to talk.
Reaching the woodshed, Mae turned in time to see Granny breaking off a hickory switch from the tree. Granny grabbed Mae by the hair and started applying the hickory switch to Mae as she called Mae a pathetic, stupid, lying, cheating ************ harlot. That Mae had a great man but Mae gave all of that up because she had the “tingles” for a bad boy.
Mae's screams rang out over the fields as Granny continued the switching. After 10 minutes Granny finally got tired. She told Mae that the only reason she was letting her stay was because of Mike. But Mae was going to work the farm and work hard.
