We call them cyclones here. Yasi hit Nth Queensland pretty hard recently (enough to drop supply and up the price of sugar and (locally) bananas by significant amounts. Those folk are hardy souls though. NQ is a similar latitude and has similar weather patterns to Florida I think. Pics;
