Just spent 30 minutes looking for the specific cover used for this song on Youtube and of course, can't find it now. It shows an old (mid 70's) man in his apartment and upon hearing some noise in the hallway, he goes to check it out. Finds a pimp hitting one of his women and the man decides to put on his old crime fighting costume which reminds me of a 40's type of Batman costume and dealing with the pimp.
A few years ago, read some short stories, one about such an actor who did what was called serials to be shown in the movie theaters. Think movie serials were shown till the early 60's? Anyway, this guy was in his costume at a movie theater where there were a bunch of kids to greet him. But a fire broke out inside of it, with the man abandoning the kids to save his own life. Think he was the only one who knew what he had done, but of course, it haunted him for the rest of his life. Then something happened, much like the pimp hitting his woman, with the actor pulling out his suit and going back into action, this time for real. Possible short story or maybe a couple of chapters? Or what if he contacted other actors/actresses that retired to become a crime fighting team?

They start doing comedy, commercials (badly), or go into politics.

Maybe one of you fine writers could run with a story about Brock Studly, who might've made a name for himself doin' action movies carryin' his .60 caliber Magnum six-shooter, blastin' bad guys and rescuin' damsels. Once he retired to the mountains of Eastern Oregon, with a minimally-stocked BOL, and hoped to survive a SHTF event, ended up with the locals thinkin' his real-life persona was like the guy he portrayed on-screen. Soon they all discover he's really a Barney Fyfe. The only thing that saves everybody is that the bad guys in the area don't realize that Brock ain't really all he's cracked up to be so they avoid any confrontations. Ought to be good for a few good chapters.

Probably good for more than "a few" chapters - but I think the MOAR monsters would be after me if I dropped the current story for a new one ;-)

This is what I came up for a basic story outline & here's the video I was looking for: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPU8OAjjS4k&index=2&list=PLm2uPZyBubFXJ96fanYLqVZksOfWxH4LL&t=0s---------------------- man is super hero of some kind in the 40's/50's (early 60's?), with chapters of his adventures being played in movie theaters nation wide. But while on a tour for a fourth coming movie, which would be his first big screen showing, there was a fire in the movie theater with the actor knocking kids aside to get out, which saved his life. But from then on, he remembered and could not forget the cries of terror and pain of the children as they screamed his name for rescue and as they burned to death. Only he knew the truth, with the world thinking he had done his best to save those children. He never worked as an actor as he couldn't face himself in a mirror while in his superhero costume. ------------- Thoughts/comments?

Just posted an update on this and other things on The Shadow's storyline. As it is, got another story idea/plot for The 2nd American Revolution. Think I'll cut back on posting stories like those until they're complete. In trying to work on so many stories at the same time, it's like trying to kill flies with a tennis racket.
