We've made an offer on a small farm. The log house that comes with the farm is in tough shape it needs jacking and the bottom log replaced. Any help would be appreciated particularly if you can point me at some how to reading.
Thanks in advance Fred

Probably depends on the size of the building. Here's a video (work in progress) of replacing the bottom run or two of logs on a building from the 1770's. www.youtube.com/watch?v=StatWHwR2NIFor a larger building, you might need the steel beams arrangements they use when jacking up houses for moving them. There are companies that do the work and there are also more videos on youtube. Try a google search for raising a log house for repairs or lifting a log house for repairs
