There are thunderstorms in the daily forecasts for the next week or two (how many days varies from one forecast to another ;-)
Yesterday's thunderstorm sneaked in while I was taking a break between the 45 minute riding mower session for the back and side lots and the usual 45+ minute session for the front (smaller but takes longer because of slowing to run the edges of the flower bed and around the trees). Having experienced one afib episode when I was under a lot of stress and let myself get dehydrated, work on hot days gets broken into reasonable blocks of time with regular rest stops. I had just sat down with some electrolyte beverage when my wife said "It's raining. Hard! Do you want a raincoat?" No raincoat, as even the seat on the riding mower will be a small pool with rain this hard. I got the mowers under cover and myself soaked in a very few minutes ;-) The grass was too wet to try to finish today so I've mostly been lazy.
The lucking out? Today's thunderstorms had some serious lightning and I kept expecting hits on the power but all the damage was 20 miles west of us (one substation with 700+ meters out) and 20 miles east of us (more than a thousand meters out). So far we've had something over 1/2 inch of rain which is minor when there are reports of 4 inches of rain within 50 miles of us. Yeah, we lucked out.

I'd say you're livin' right. Gettin' that wet, does that mean you can move Saturday night bath night back a couple of days?

I did come in a lot cleaner than I usually am after that much time on the mower. However, I did replace the gasket where the chute from the mower deck feeds into the bagger yesterday. That might explain the difference ;-)

That's cheatin'! Whenever one's puttin' things back together there should always be parts left over. BTW, whenever I read your sig line I think I should also thank your wife. A good proofreader is invaluable. She done good.

Good proofreaders are also very hard to find - at least the ones you can pay with dinner out and not by-the-word ;-)
