Just look at what happens when I leave for two weeks! Membership count was 8o+ when I left and now it's over 100+!! Yeaaaa team. We just got home from London. We stayed near central London so the riots were north and east of us. We did head out north to Bedfordshire but still west of the problem areas. I did look for sighs of the fires but didn't see anything. We visited Stonehenge and the city of Bath. I would really like to spend a week or so in Bath. A very beautiful city. Stonehenge was..... bleak. Nothing around it but open land. Which is nice that there is not a pub and a fish & chips place next to it. The stones were not as tall as I expected but then you can't get closer than about 100 feet at best. Still impressive. Good to be home and now to catch up.

Wow, what a coincidence---DH and I are going to England in a couple of weeks. We will spend a few days in London, maybe a week Narrow-boating on the Oxford/Asbury canal, then a week on Menorca(island off Spain) with friends. England is one of our favorite places--though the recent "troubles" have me concerned. We will try to avoid problems. I probable wouldn't even leave the farm if DH wasn't so set on going. The times are too uncertain for my peace of mind. And--its getting to be hurricaine time here at home. Ack! I need to relax!

Galee, you'll be fine now. All of the trouble is in that same area where it started. I, however, would not be out and about later than 8 pm.
Our friend in Bedford has a home on South Africa. We have friends from Norway that have been trying to get is to go to SA for 10 years. I have never felt comfortable going there with them but our friend from Bedford is a different story. We are planning a trip to Cape Town in the fall or early '12.
Enjoy.
