All may be as it seems, but to my mind, something doesn't add up right now about this attack.
The alleged shooter was worth millions. By all reports so far, he wasn't in financial trouble. He had absolutely zero criminal history, according to reports. His brother is quoted as saying that he owned a couple of handguns and a long gun, but was not an avid gun enthusiast (my words are not the exact quote). Granted, the shooter was firing into a crowd, but at a range of roughly 500 yards from an elevation of 32 stories (at least 320 feet up). I'm not saying they can't deliver lethal hits, but 500 yards is pushing the limits of most carbines. There is no mention of military training for this man, but those ranges require a certain level of competence to place accurate fire. He apparently managed to break a window and smuggle between 10 and 17 guns to a 32nd floor room. I would think somebody would have noticed something amiss with his amount and type of luggage. Unless suppressed, firing even fifty rounds would have quickly drawn attention right to the shooter's door. Suppressors are expensive, difficult to aquire legally, and are not common, in any event. Even suppressed, the type of weapons with the necessary range to do this are not silent.
Like I said, all may be just as it seems, but right now, I have a lot more questions than answers.
I do have one conspiricy comment. It seems the media is spinning the reporting of this in an effort to help the masses believe that the alleged shooter managed to shoot over 450 people in something like 30 minutes. They are not lying outright by saying that, just creatively reporting in such a way that doesn't much mention things like the inevitable trampling, pushing and shoving, and falling injuries that a human stampede would cause.
