Friends, I've been doing some serious writing. I should have a few chapters to post soon. This is an unauthorized hidden home that you really must see. Is it terribly practical? NO… Will it help anyone trying to lay low in the aftermath of some sort of real-life crisis? Almost certainly not. Plus I don't like to risk putting a lot of work into it only to have the govie destroy it… But it sure is a whiz-bang-dinger to imagine in a Zombie story or other story where extreme stealth is required. I believe that you could manage to store a year's worth of those cheapy-cheepy hermetically sealed TVP on the little car overhead car rather easily. or somewhere along the girder. Water and waste disposal would be more challenging. Like a sloth, you have to descend ever two or three weeks to bury garbage bags full of excrement and to rustle up some water Remember, you'll live longer eating cheap-cheepy TVP, than you will eating free nothing. Anyway, I groove on ingenuity. www.atlasobscura.com/articles/secret-study-freeway-bridge-spain…..RVM45

Great idea, especially the part where he can crank himself to the tallest empty spot under the freeway. But instead of a 1 piece long ladder or a 2 piece which extends, maybe something that can roll down/extend as used on fire escapes on apartment buildings or a 2 story home. Use a really long pole to bring it down or push it up, with the pole being hidden a little distance away. As to waste disposal, since it's under a freeway, there should be some vehicles abandoned/damaged when the zombie/apocalypse hits. Toss your garbage bags into one of them, preferably as far away as possible so hopefully no one connects the bags to your hideout. And imagine someone poking one/opening of these bags in hopes of finding something of value?! Also, check out photos of abandoned tunnels and road/freeway overpasses via Google. There's a lot of 'em. P.S. Thought I'd add some photos.
