Friends,
I know that I haven’t been around very much for a long time. That makes it harder to ask for help.
I still write a LOT—and then I end up deleting a LOT...
I’ve pretty much painted myself into a corner. I’m 60 years old now. I weigh far too much. I have diabetic neuropathy in my feet—meaning that I have almost no feeling on my soles. If I do wear an ulcer it takes forever to heal. I just spent over a year going to see the podiatrist every week—at $45 co-pay per visit—to clear up an ulcer on my big toe.
{My monthly income is approximately $1000 Gross.}
Walking for exercise is thus impractical. Most gyms cost too much and transportation is also a problem.
I can’t ride a 2-wheeled bike anymore. The regular 3-wheeled bikes are only rated for 300-pounds and I’m at 384-pounds. Back when I got my lump-sum disability almost a decade ago, I considered buying a heavy-duty industrial 3-wheeled bike, but I convinced myself that other things were more urgent.
Anyway, these bikes aren’t cheap and I decided to put up a “Go Fund Me.”
I don’t know many folks anymore but my sister does. She’s hit up all of her friends to contribute—and many have. She also asked them to share my link and to ask others to share the link.
I’m almost one-third of the way to my goal but donations are slowing down. Today I first noticed that I only have a grand total of 12 Facebook shares.
Money is welcome, but even for those who don’t have anything to give—please share my link if you would.
Thank you everyone.
You know, almost everything that I might like to try to do over the next 10-years—if the Good Lord spares me that long—has “Get into better shape” as a prerequisite.
Riding a 3-wheeler is about the only way that I can think of to get back into some type of shape given my circumstances.
