I remember that one of the stories had a simple bread recipe - just not which story. Anyone remember?

hhmmm....I vaguely remember a bread recipe but I cannot remember the story. so sorry. I know Kathy had a lot of recipes in some of her stories but I don't remember which ones. Or if there was bread. I looked in my recipe "folder" to see if I had one but don't. which is weird cause that sounds like something I would c/p and save.

Guess I start re-reading a bunch of stories. I think the baking started in the first 2 or 3 chapters, so it shouldn't take more than a month or two ;-)
Maybe I can find a copy of HTTrack and download all the stories on the site. Then I could let the computer search for "bread" and "baking" and I think they baked on a "stone".

oh is it in the story about the guy who got the good deal on the baking tile at the hardware store? and the owner put them up for sale and he gave the kid a cut? And he met that little old lady in the grocery store who taught him how to buy "wisely"

Are you inquiring of simple (low tech) ways of cooking the bread or simple recipes for the batter?

Several people commented on the recipe in the story being simple, tasty and reliable. I have a book (or three) of bread recipes - I just want to try this one.
