This is not exactly a PAW story as most of us write. Why does The End Of The World As We Know It always have to be a disaster type of crises? What if TEOTWAWKI was some things that were so good that it eliminated the need to strive against each other for our basic needs. At first everything is so good until the ones that are use to holding power over others find out they have no power over others, those whose identity is tied up in what they do have nothing they have to do, and those who value things realize their things have no value. As in other Paw stories the social, political, and economic world is changed forever. I know this has been done somewhat in science fiction, I have a ScFi in the works with a bit of this as a part, but what about it as the main theme?

That actually sounds like a good idea -- kind of what the hippies were thinking would come about in the Age of Aquarius.

I intend to use a plot element that will launch a new series of Syfy stories I plan to do at some point in time that basically ushers in a Golden Age of discovery, including going to the stars. I'd like to actually prove out the concept before I do the stories, but may have to write the stories before I can get the money to develop the device.
In other words, it is a good idea. I think you can turn it into a good story.
Just my opinion.

Oh yes, that would make a fine tale! What a lovely way for the villains to get their comeuppance!
It has some of the irony of Ray Bradbury's (?) story called "Here there be Tigers", set in a faraway world where whatever you imagine is there, IS what is there! Dreams are realized, and fears are too. The ones who a major PITA get what's coming to them by their own attitudes, and the gentle heroes live happily.
True justice, IMHO. Go for it!

Read a story years ago that had earth was in some sort of radiation(?) field since man began. Then the field moved on and suddenly everyone is super smart....as if being Einstein would now be looked down at as being mentally retarded.

One story was "The Prodigal Sun", which I read in paperback many years ago.
As an outgrowth of contact with an alien civilization, an "exchange student" from Earth comes back with devices that put out 10 times as much air as they take in. Military researchers discover that the output of the devices consists of one part air and 9 parts of an unknown (to them) gas that is lighter than hydrogen so it floats to the edge of the atmosphere. The purpose of the gas is to sheld mankind from some particularly harmful bit of radiation from the sun that is the source of all mankind's ills.
I think my first modern (i.e., after Jules Verne) sci-fi book was "The Martian Chronicles". I still think it's probably one of the best, if not THE best intro to sci-fi for a younger reader (ages 10 and up). Considering how many younger readers devoured the 'Harry Potter' series, I doubt that any of them would have a problem with the Chronicles.

I actually have a story about something "good" that occurs and the powers that be, want it stopped at all costs because it takes away their power.
I haven't worked on it in a while (been too busy) but I should finish it someday .... hahaha
I'll have to see if I can find it. It's a short story but not finished .... hmmm....

Be wary of short stories: that was the original intent for Accidental Family - which is likely to keep going to at least 100 chapters...
The voices in my head just keep providing events and dialog ;-)

The Slow Invasion is about a viral infection that brings about good effects instead of bad ones.

Once the characters take over you are just along for the ride. The Big Dry started out as a short story too. The children kept bringing friends home for supper and they would stay. Don't let on about hearing the voices out in public. The ones who can't hear them get jealous. hh
