I am glad that Steve Finally Posted this story. It has one of the most ingenious Plot Devices that I've ever Seen, and like all Steve's material, it is tightly Plotted and well-written. Thank you Steve..... And everyone, be sure and tell Steve how much you enjoyed the Story. .....RVM45

An enjoyable style of writing, my compliments.
Just a quick piece of advice...nothing is given so freely, and taken so seldom as advice, but here is two cents worth.
Word usage: then vs. than
"and then" or "greater than"
the story would benefit from some editing in this regard.
No, I am not an english major or a grammar nazi, just wanted to offer constructive critique.
Still , this is an interesting read.

I'm with you Woofie. Using the wrong spelling of a word can ruin the flow of a story as you have to try to figure out what it's "suppose" to mean. I've seen people use "to day" to mean "today", new for knew, two-to-too. Punctuation and spelling ARE important to a story. And THAT is one reason you don't see any stories by me!

loved the story. VERY interesting idea. I didn't even realize what "see" meant until I was way into the story. Once I realized that unique twist, wow! I really hope there is a book II (and III and IV....lol)

Hi everyone. My apologies for not being around lately. It's bad form to leave people hanging.
Let me answer as many questions as I can here -
"Then vs. Than" - I consider this "grey vs. gray" and "center vs. centre." Yes, I know that this rubs some people the wrong way. However, that's how I write. If I truly misspell a word, I'll go back and fix it but I learned long ago not to agonize over every little sentence or otherwise you get absolutely zero accomplished.
For the people who enjoyed the story - Thank you. Your compliments make writing these stories worth it. I definitely do not write these stories on the prospect that they are the next "Harry Potter" or "50 Shades of Gr... Um, 50 Shades of Light Black." I'd actually be a little frightened if they ever became that popular.
A Sequel - Yes, I have an outline for the sequel. I always plan ahead and "seed" my stories with plot points for prospective sequels because no story ever truly ends. However, considering that I roughly write one of these stories per year, is it really worth it to go back and "top pigs with pigs"? The sentiment is to usually go with the plot that I haven't written yet because I've already written zombies, written plagues... Part of the idea of writing is to always challenge yourself to write something new.
Having written all of that - If the demand is truly there, I'm not afraid of dusting off my notes for my sequels and writing them either.
And on another topic, here's what I've been working on lately...
Unnamed pen and paper PA-RPG - This has been an interesting challenge so far. It's a pen and paper post-apocalyptic role-playing game. Most of the mechanics have been outlined, the plot has been outlined, an introductory adventure has been outlined but nothing has been settled in stone.
Story Concept #1 - Without giving too much away, this one started out as an experiment in writing an actual movie script. It involves a man living alone in a cabin out in the wilderness.
Story Concept #2 - A lot of my outline efforts of late have been horror/post-apocalyptic with an emphasis on horror. This one involves a group of kids in their late teens caught in a situation sort of reminiscent to but by no means imitating "Cloverfield."
Story Concept #3 - Another horror/PA... A radio script in the spirit of "War of the Worlds" but not an alien invasion of the conventional kind (can't give much away without ruining the story).
Story Concept #4 - Even giving away the subject would be spoiling too much but I can reveal that it is in the Victorian Era (but not "steampunk").
Story Concept #5 - Steampunk with strong PA overtones. I've been brewing this outline for a long time and now I think it's already past it's prime (some video games have covered this topic in a very roundabout way). Still, I never abandon any of my outlines completely.
Story Concept #6 - I know old time late-80's / early 90's cyberpunk is passe now but I can't let go of this cyberpunk/PA outline for sentimental reasons and for the simple glee that old style cyberpunk was very backhandedly optimistic about the future even if it didn't want to admit it.
Story Concept #7 - Probably not a legitimate PA story (far too much horror in it) but has enough PA potential to merit listing here. It's a bit Lovecraftian.
Those are just some of the PA stories - I've got a lot of other non-PA outlines as well. I don't know if I ever posted my "War of the Worlds" radio script here or not. I'd have to check.
Anyway, that's what I'm up to right now. If anyone wants to egg me on about one of the story outlines listed up there, feel free. Thanks for reading and appreciating my writing and, hopefully, one of these outlines will eventually turn into a serial story in the near future.

Steve, I thought that you'd tired of this Forum. I posted "The New Darkness" over on "The Mental Militia" Forum; and over at " Timebomb2000". I think your story got close to 300 hits on " Mental Militia"--and not a single person had the decency to make a comment: " Good!"; " Thanks" or even " This is the Worst Excuse for a Story that I've ever read!"..... An honest negative comment beats no comment all to Hell. Several Folks commented over on " Timebomb2000"--and one fellow recognized the story from your Forum. Anyway, glad that you still have your hand in. .....RVM45 PS--Forgive me, I may have asked you this already..... You describe the Blind so convincingly..... Are you Blind by any chance Steve?
