Hey, all... I received an invite to post here, and am thrilled to do so. I can't wait to read some of the other fiction posted on this forum! My name is Maria and I am currently in the middle of writing a new End Times novel. I began just a month ago for the NaNoWriMo project (National Novel Writing Month) and am continuing to post each chapter as it is written. I've posted the link to the website on other boards, and have gotten several positive reviews. As of this posting, I just have the prologue and chapters 1-5 written, but I'm able to put out about a chapter a week. If interested, feel free to check back, subscribe to my feed, become a follower, etc. The novel is a survival novel with a Christian theme -- it's based on the Book of Revelation. The catch is, it's got a female protagonist who is a complete DGI to start (and so is her husband). They're both city folk in an upper middle-class suburb. There is a lot of humor, a few love stories, some good doom and gloom (which mostly makes itself known toward the middle of the book) and lots of prepping. And of course, since it's Christian-based, there are Christian themes, theology and Scripture involved. But it's (hopefully) not too preachy. I should suspect than non-Christians who like a good apocalyptic story and thriller should enjoy this book immensely. Women, too, since there's very little doomer fiction from a female point of view (although there's plenty of guy stuff, too). The website is designed for aesthetics, so the white font on black screen may be hard to read. But off to the right of the website are links to the Google Doc PDF versions which are much easier to read, especially on an iPad or if you need bigger font. Here's the link to the website. I thought that would be easier than posting all the content here as text. I will post, however, update when I have a new chapter up. I appreciate the readership! Please don't hesitate to comment or offer your review. There's also a place on the site to vote for what you think of the book. All this (I'm hoping) will help with future publishing/marketing efforts. Enjoy! And thanks for reading... therevelationnovel.blogspot.com/

Just an FYI, I have read Maria's story so far (up to Chapter 5 so far) and found it to be very good. I recommend it, I find its female lead to be a different twist and her husbands reluctance to believe what is happening to her to make it interesting, a good contrast to the usual male dominated genre.
I also think Maria is a good storyteller, the story flows well, and am definitely looking forward to reading more of this story.
Give it a try.
Maria -- I am curious as to what is happening with the prologue character

mlindbloom--I saw your story on one of the other Forums. Hadn't got around to reading it yet--Kinda busy with a story of my own. Is it based on a Post Tribulation Rapture? I'm a Pre-Tribulationist myself..... But its nothing to be hostile about..... Or to keep me from enjoying a good story. Just Curious. We're getting a fair amount of new members--but we seem to have an unusually high percentage of folks who have little or nothing to say--and that's okay--but I'm really glad to see another poster appear. .....RVM45

Thanks -- I truly appreciate the kind words. Stay tuned for more -- I wish I had all the time in the world to write, but I'm only able to do it in the evenings and on weekends.
As far as the Rapture goes, I'm taking a bit of a different approach. I've recently had an epiphany regarding a "mid-trib" Rapture, and think I'm going to include that into the storyline.
We shall see. The Lord guides me -- I just do the typing.
;D
Thanks again!

This story is going strong! I like it a lot, with the stronger-than-she-knows woman and her supportive man. Lots of good characters in here, who live and breathe realism with their strengths and flaws. I have a feeling their problems are going to get worse.

Great story so far. Only one inconsistency that I see, in the latest chapter you said "He unlocked the door with the remote" Nothing else (at least above ground) is working and nothing works on the vehicles, he should be using the key after discovering the remote doesn't work, The remote not only uses the electronics in the remote, but also the cars electrical system to catch the signal and send a signal to the door mechanism to unlock it. Also, even if the pump is submersible (thus underground and protected) it gets its electricity from the power lines, just like everything else, not sure how you are going to get around that, I suppose it could be an artesian well, but if so, I think you'd need to work that into the story somehow. I also don't know if they have artesian wells in Michigan.
It's a couple of picky details inside of an otherwise great story, but if you are looking to publish in the future it's something to think about.

One of the hazards of writing so fast and trying to get the chapter out in a timely fashion. There are a couple of "surprises" regarding the well and a few other things that will come into play soon -- you'll see. But thanks so much for helping to point out that "miss." Should be all fixed now!

looks like the link is blocked. it states one must be invited to read. I thought that is what she was doing here: inviting us to go read it.
oh well.

The author suspended posting her story online about halfway through it as she was working a book deal for it. Not sure what the deal with her website is as I hadn't tried going to it in a while. She was supposed to let everyone know when it was ready, but have not seen anything from her in a while.

seems to happen a lot now a days. People will begin a story then half way through just stop. Some even KNOW they will be publishing and not finishing but won't tell people up front. There are those who are upfront about it. I don't mind those who let people know up front they won't be finishing their story. I do skip them...they tend to not be very good anyways. But when someone does a great story, finishes it, and then prints it, I do try to get a copy. Can't always do it (no money) but I do recommend it at least.

I agree, Kellie. If I read a story cover to cover and it actually appears in bookstores or online with covers <grin> I will buy it. When HalfFast finally had his book published, I bought it, just because he DESERVED to earn the royalties off of my reading it. Haven't read the paper version through, but I DID read the .pdf so I got the value from the book and felt like I owed him
