"Miracle in Bethlehem, PA" Hallmark HMM 2023
Did you watch it? Did you consider it time well spent?
I'm twelve minutes into what seems to be an incredibly poor excuse for a Christmas movie as it's devolved to people who are no longer connected to the real world and can't manage an intelligent conversation. If the writers were trying to make much of the cast unattractive, perhaps they have succeeded beyond their biggest dreams? (I've found one PAW book like that - the characters in the first chapter were so useless that their lives had no value so I closed the book and wasted no more time on it. Probably not what the author had hoped for and almost guaranteed to not be the review he/she wanted.)
Will I go back to the recorded movie and give it another five minutes? Maybe, because it was recommended - but at this point it does appear that might be a terrible waste of another five minutes :-(
I've tossed purchased books after investing less time...
Having needed some serious Rx pain medication today, I'm probably not the best or most patient reviewer - but if I had wanted to watch a broad cast of stupid in action, I could have chosen an episode of "The Three Stooges" and known the level of stupid to anticipate.
Even as flakey as Hallmark sometimes is, I had hoped to find someone with at least one foot in or near reality after 12 minutes of movie.
Bah! Humbug!

My wife commented just a couple of days ago about how the Hallmark channel had really gone downhill.

If my 12 minute experience is a bellwether, your wife is correct. Not a good day pain-wise today so probably won't be subjecting myself to potentially negative things for another day...

Hallmark now places all 36 plots tropes into a hat, and pulls them out. Then they have a committee meeting on the order. Must haves: “You got this” somewhere in the script. Better if at least three times. Extra points for having New York or LA in it. The aid to the lead character should be a minority. Points for LBGT type couple at the town being visited. The drama point has to be a misunderstanding, no matter how silly.
The best plots involve a bake shop, coffee shop, or estate sale.

The best plots involve a bake shop, coffee shop, or estate sale. The best plots were used up a few decades ago "Everything old is new again"

How would they do a TV version of "One Second After"?

How would they do a TV version of "One Second After"? It would be a woke version where anyone other than hetero white men were the heroes. ...oh, and no one had evil guns.
