PDF from a non-profit that was doing work in Guatemala in 2009 or so. The Toyota alternator used is probably available in quantity in junkyards and on eBay. The alternator is modified with permanent magnets replacing the field coils for MUCH higher efficiency. Today, their DIY charge controller might be replaced by a unit from banggood.com or aliexpress.com - that's "left as an exercise for the student". The PDF is about 1.3MB. www.jecarter.us/files/5%20Gallon%20Bucket%20Hydroelectric%20Generator%20Build%20Manual.pdfI have another 150MB on larger hydroelectric dams and gens but for that you can send my a small thumb drive (that ancient and otherwise almost useless 256MB unit you tossed into a junk drawer a few years back ;-) and a couple of stamps for return postage. PM me for a mailing address. If you want all the alternative power, cooking, heating, water, etc. that I've collected over time, send a 64GB drive and I'll sort out how much of the 398GB in the "download" folder is appropriate. If you're interested in programming, I have Microsoft's downloadable .iso files for Visual Basic 2005 Express, Visual C, VWD and other freebies that they've offered at various times - about 550MB each. Those I recognize from the file names but there are some others that are "some .iso related to programming" - consider those the prize in the Cracker Jack box.
