Your probably know that gators and crocs are found in Florida and Georgia (saw a pair of crocs in the bedroom this morning) and that you gotta be swift if you're gonna get close to either of 'em. I almost wasn't quick enough this week and it cost me my best hunting knife and a little skin off the back of my left hand - I'm right-handed but my grandpa was left-handed and that's how he taught me to use a knife. 'Course that means I can be a double threat with that Ka-Bar in my left hand and the little .380 auto that will fit in any pocket in my right hand. Anyway, I was trying to chase an old croc off the porch the other morning and he was almost as fast as I was! Had the Ka-Bar in his mouth and down on his tongue - that can usually make 'em keep their jaws open and a tongue poke from the point usually lets 'em know you mean business - but I felt him move and I yanked my hand back quick like! He almost got my hand but the Ka-Bar was in his way when I let it go and he just knicked the back of my hand in three places - not bad to have three glued together tears and a tooth point bruise or two when an old croc chomps down on your hand. Did I tell you about my new phone? It even has a camera so I have a picture of this bite! It's right here: www.jecarter.us/files/croc-bite-sm.jpg
