The big outage in North Carolina continues: Duke Energy has 34,321 of 47,018 meters in Moore County out (close to 73%). poweroutage.us/area/county/496It seems the person "getting even" didn't know who owned which facilities, as Randolph EMC has 947 of 7635 meters out in the county. You have a new, somewhat unlikely but devastating and long-lasting reason to add to your preps - a genuine long-term grid outage where there may NOT be enough parts to fix it soon. Can you heat your living space space? Cook food? Refrigerate as-yet-uneaten food? Can you make a small woodstove out of a 20lb propane tank? Maybe that power-paranoid PAW fiction writer was correct about substation damage that might take weeks to repair?
