Heavy rain - loud enough to be heard inside the house - and thunderstorms came across us just before 5AM, but not even a flicker in our lights. That's the second storm front that's come across us in 16 hours but the previous one was mostly South of us.
However, this one has caused significant power outages. Georgia Power has 7771 meters out with maybe 90% of those in metro Atlanta - running from downtown Atlanta out East to Stone Mountain. Many of those have an ERT of 8:30 or 8:45AM so perhaps when the day crew gets to the substations and resets some breakers?
The storm front is still moving South and East across the state so there may be additional outages.
Our power co-op has 30 total meters out - some North of us, some South of us but all of them several miles West of us - just not our turn in the dark or perhaps the terrain makes a difference as this is not the first time we've been in a strip with lights that's between two strips of dark.
The other co-op in the county has 1065 meters out.
