It seems like the only thing coming out these days are remakes of old shows. I expect Baywatch to return any day now. We have Quantum Leap CSI. Vegas Mcgiver as examples.

Humans are relatively predictable creatures and there are only so many ways to show their interactions. Any show that survived multiple seasons must have had some good ideas.
The new version of McGyver got cancelled at our house when they did a very stupid killoff of a power plant employes because "He's been without air for two minutes." Sorry, but that did not exceed the ballpark figure of three minutes so he probably could have been recusitated but they didn't even try. Basic CPR should be familiar to people who have dangerous occupations so they shouldn't need to wait for an EMT. I have very low tolerance for stupid actions and bad information in entertainment.

EE….
Haven't watched TV in many years.
The closest that I come, is watching old TV Shows on "Netflix."
I watched the first couple of episodes of "Breaking Bad" when it first came out. It wasn't a Bad show, but it just didn't grab me. I completely forgot to watch it for several weeks and then I was behind the curve, with no need to watch, wondering what was going on.
Some years later, I "Binge-Wacthed" the show with my sister, when it was on "Netflix" and we both enjoyed it great deal. Watching four or five episodes per day is different experience than watching one episode, a week apart.
One of the last shows that I watched on regular TV was the "Buffy" & "Angel" Combo. I started watching "Angel"—didn't think that I'd like "Buffy" but started watching it after a cross-over.
I REALLY started liking it as the "Spike" character developed. At the core, it was story of man seeking REDEMPTION.
Anyway, my sister never wactched either, but some years later, we watched all of them on "Netflix." I enjoyed rewatching and filling in the episodes that I had missed and sharing the show with someone.
They are on a remake binge because A.} They lack the creativity to write something new and B.} The executives lack he BALLS to boldly try something without a proven track record.
SOMETHING I HATE about remakes, IF you're going to remake something, stay true to the source material. Neither the "Equalizer" nor the dude in "Wild Wild West" was Black. Should we remake "Shaft" and "Shaka Zulu" with Caucasian actors?
The Mike Hammer stories were set in the Late 4o's up to the early 60's. "Starsky & Hutch" was set in the early 70's. "Miami Vice" was set in the Early and mid-80;s.
It is a GROSS GAUCHERIE to more or less use the theme and move them into the modern era.
I don't even want to see that shit!
