The weather outlook for 10 days in August: jecarter.us/files/10-day-2021-aug.jpgBased on a test run today (partly cloudy, no rain, no thunderstorms), 300 watts of solar panels could NOT keep up with the average 76 watts/hour of the fridge. With the need to recharge the batteries from overnight use while also running the fridge, this would need 800 watts on a full sun summer day (about 5 hours of useful sun) and 1200 watts on a full sun winter day (about 3 hours of useful sun). On a day with some hours of clouds/rain (whatever those thunderstorms in the forecast bring), the needed solar power could easily be doubled (or more). === Surely you've heard/seen the ads: Save money! Solar is easy! Let us install it for you! Get paid $2000! *** If you believe that, I have some future** oceanfront property in Nevada that I can let you have for the fantastic price of only $5,000/acre. **As soon as the "Big One" hits and California falls off into the Pacific Ocean. *** rebate after installation
