Steve, I remember this story from your website.

Its a grand story, fast paced and fun to read.

I do hope you'll get around to uploading "A New Darkness" soon--as it is one of my favorites.

I also hope that you aren't neglecting your War of the Sexes story--have to go by and look when I get done here.

Hi ding. I've actually got some extensive notes for a sequel to this story. Without giving too much away (I haven't posted the entire story but is complete on the board in which I originally wrote it), if I remember correctly, the story was beginning to get too big and I needed a way to trim it down to a conclusion but I also wanted to reserve the potential to write a sequel. Therefore, some of the daily cliffhangers don't make sense in light of just reading Trapped in Paradise (some story arcs that I would've tied up I didn't so that I could use them for greater effect in a "Part II").

Based on my notes, if I ever did write a sequel, expect those "dangling characters" from Trapped in Paradise (and even at least one of the leads) to at least make an extended cameo appearance.

Oh, what the heck - I'll reveal this much - the intended sequel would focus primarily on... Ahem... "Those final characters" that arrive in the last few parts of the story as well as a few new characters. Therefore, it's safe to assume that it would also be an 'immediate' sequel, playing out immediately after the conclusion of the first part.

Thanks for the positive feedback. At least I didn't write it in Latin to match the Roman numerals. Hmmm... Post-Apocalyptic fiction in the time of the Roman Empire... Now there's an idea... ;D

Hi & thanks for all of the kind words.

I have not written part 2 and, quite honestly, I don't think that it will ever be written. I know that one should never say never but... Don't hold your breath.

Truth is... Classic post-apocalypse just isn't my thing anymore. I can't do it. Zombies, plague, nuclear war, alien invasion... *sigh* I have no problem with the genre but without getting into too much detail, I've had enough Real World depressing events in my life to dredge up fictional ones.

The closest that I can come to post-apocalyptic anything is what I would consider "Weird Far Future" stories. It's sorta post-apocalyptic but it's so far into the future that the post-apocalyptic is almost a side issue more than the actual story itself. An example of it would be the last story that I published here, "Bunker Mentality," which is kinda sorta the direction that I've been going in for a while. Even then, I think that Bunker Mentality is on the more depressing end of the scale of where I've been going.

I know that I need to post something here. It's been way too long. It's just a matter of finding the right material that's both far future-y & weird future-y with just enough post-apocalypse-y to fit onto the message board. Not an impossible task but also not an easy one as well.

Unfortunately it has been nearly four years since the author has been on the board.  I too would enjoy for the stories to be taken to their full conclusion.
