If you enjoyed the "Harry Potter" books, you might also like the "Mairelon the Magician" series. It's probably aimed at late elementary through middle school (like "Potter") but set some decades earlier (also in England). There are three books in the series and at this point I've read and liked the first book and I have the second and third books on order (used paperbacks are cheaper than the ebooks for those two). www.amazon.com/dp/B00D0KQS58

I've got all the Harry Potter movies, but never read any of her books. For adults, I recommend Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden series of books. Harry's a wizard who works in Chicago and yeah, I know there was a brief tv series about him, but it kind of sucked if you've read the books. The latest is book 17 and the damn paperback is TWENTY DOLLARS?! At least it is on Evilbay. Going to wait for 6-12 months before the price drops WAY down. Harry finds out more than once that bad things happen to good people no matter how hard he tries.
