I often Rant against
Plastic Pistols.....
But it isn't so much the
plastic that I object to.
I'm satisfied that a
Plastic Pistol could be designed that I would at least be neutral to own and carry.
From what I can see of the Russian "
Rhino" .357 Magnum Topbreak Revolver--I'd really love the Opportunity to check one out, shoot it--and if it performed at all well, to own one.
The big clunky
Walther .22, is fine for a
.22.
I considered buying a
S&W Sigma once(for $160)--someone has Said that the Sigma is like a Vespa--lots of Fun to ride, but a trifle embarrassing when your friends see you on one. ( Would loath to
Carry the Sigma--because it is clunky.....)
No my Friends and my Brothers--What I
Hate about the Glock is this whole Modernistic, Agnostic, Utilitarian, Pragmatic approach to Sidearms in General.
Each one is pretty much like every other one--except for a clever bunch of modular replaceable parts, to adjust a few parameters--
And hey, you're ready to go--Just like Military Basic Training Haircuts--
one size misfits all.....I agree with the Samurai who said,
"The Sword is the Soul of the Samurai."Before someone leaps to argue the point--What is a Soul? Can you define it? Well then, how can you possibly say that a Pistol or Revolver doesn't have a Soul?
What in Hell are you talking About?
But the Samurai didn't say "Swords
have a Soul";"They say, "Sword
is The Soul."
For the man who wants to be a Modern Day Warrior--or
"Samurai".....And since in the Modern World, he will almost have to be a
Self-Taught, Self-Styled Samurai.....He can clear out a few of the Grossest of the "Clinkers" in the
Olde Tyme Samurai's Theory and Practice. For the Modern Day Samurai--The thing that Defines him as a Man, or as a Practitioner of "Bushido" is his Handgun.
The Olde Tyme Samurai went kinda overboard here. There are cases of Samurai who sold their families into Slavery, to raise money for a suitable Katana....
Hopelessly cursing and marring the Blade, even before they'd donned it the first time.
A modern day Warrior Should sit and meditate, while looking at his Side Arm:
This; He should tell himself, is what makes me Warrior.
This; Sets me above the Hoarde of Non-Warriors.
Without This;
I am Nothing.
If I were Starving, I would not part with
This--not for any amount of Food.
Better to Starve than to Lose Warriorhood.
If I were Drowning, and
This were pulling me Down, I would not discard
It.
If my Wife were to say, "You must give
That up, or me."
I would say, "Good-Bye."
Put a Gun to my Head, and say, "Drop
It!"
"I imagine that I will, once you've blown my Brains out--But not Until."
Such a powerful Talisman should allow the Maximum Latitude for Personalization.....
Not be an item of Mass issue. .....RVM45
