I have about 18,000 words in this one (very short for me ;-) but it's been sitting at that point for almost 2 months. I read back over it tonight but all I found was a couple of nitpick items - no additional story.
NO promises of it ever being finished.
Give me some Yes or No answers.

Unfinished story? I've got my own. Thank you though.
BUT I'll read another...any day.

I'm sure we'll be readin' the conclusion of Mod Girl and Manic any day now, right? Right? Uh... right? Seriously, sir, I appreciate the enjoyment I've gotten from what you've written so far.

Every time I sit down to add some to that story...it just ain't there. I gave some thought to giving it a wrap and walking away, but I know there is a lot to be explored. Writing isn't a natural thing for me. The moon & stars have to be in alignment for it to happen.
Maybe it's a major case of mental clutter that is gumming up the works...dunno.

You have my sympathies. I ran into that on "Accidental Family" as I was posting it the words just "dried up". After two months of zero progress on "Keep the Cool", I asked if anyone wanted an unfinished story and got two "Yes" responses so I went ahead and posted what I had. That time I was aware that I might not have a complete story so I decided to wait until it was finished before posting. It didn't matter - I still ran out of words with the story unfinished ;-) I do my best writing in the same place (recliner) with the same laptop (like the keyboard and display) but there are days when I might as well be standing behind the house with a spraygun in my hand because no fewer words would come out. I did get "Homestead" into Kindle format this week. With near zero progress on the sequel to "The Waif" (stuck in Chapter 28), I started tweaking "Homestead", "Just Another Voicemail" and "In the Dark" for publication. If all goes well with Kindle's overnight processing, "Homestead" might even be online in the morning ;-)

Millwright, I'm just rattlin' your chain. I finally joined this board 'cause I wanted you to know that the premise was great and you made ModGirl and Manic come alive, at least for me. Hell, if'n we don't see more before their kids are old enough to go to school, that's okay too. I'd really like to see Manic get in one really good zinger, but the ModGirl you created just ain't gonna let somethin' like that go unanswered, I'm sure.
