Another thing I saw on Facebook.
Split bananas in half carefully with a knife and put them in banana split dishes (if you have them) - they taste the same in a cereal bowl or soup bowl ;-)
Add 1/2 cup Greek yogurt to each (maybe one of the fruit flavored yogurts for kids?)
Sprinkle on: Almond slices Granola Dried coconut Blueberries Raspberries Blackberries Chocolate chips
I think you could substitute almost any fruits and nuts that you or your kids like (I'd include blueberries and chopped pecans). I'm more likely to use semi-sweet chocolate chips but I consider dark chocolate its own food group which should be included daily ;-) Crumbled Lotus Biscoff cookies might be an interesting replacement for granola - they work well in place of shortcake for strawberries and blueberries.
Coconut is a "texture" thing for some younger kids. One of our girls had a snowman-shaped cake for her December birthday when she was four or five and although she had no problem with the coconut on the icing (an ingredient in the Seven Layer Bars she'd been helping to make for Christmas since she was big enough to hold a measuring cup over a baking dish) some of the other kids wouldn't eat it.

I actually used banana splits and beer to help me make minimum weight for a job many years ago.
