Friends,
I got this picture from a Manga I was reading. The perspective is wanked. You'd think that the young lady sitting in the truck bed was a giant.
Nonetheless, a word equals 1000 pictures…
Note the size of the truck in relation to the driver.
I can't build a truck like this, but some of you could.
It is NARROW—Maybe 36'' maybe 40''. The driver could comfortably put an arm out of each window simultaneously. YEAH, you couldn't Drive that way. I'm talking dimensions.
The bed is only 4' or 5' long. Hey, you can still load 500 to 1000-pounds of cargo—maybe more—in the bed.
With a little truck like this, a 4-cylinder engine should still give it plenty of pep.
It should be very fuel efficient. It will fit through gaps that a full-sized truck would not.
As long as we're designing from scratch, I want on-demand 4-wheel drive with a Torsen differential and a winch on the front bumper.
I'm not sure how well small diameter tires would work off-road—but if they would do okay, the little 14'' tires are about half the price of full-sized tires.
Seriously folks, if your little truck gets stuck, many folks could DEADLIFT the rear end once you unload it.
Yeah, it only holds one. If everyone in your family can drive, you could have 2, 3, 57—or however many—little trucks in your fleet.
Watch the first 5-minutes of the Mel Gibson "Roadwarrior" movie. Much easier to fire out the "Passenger Side" window this way.
O Yeah, you could design it with two seats one behind the other. You add weight and cut gas mileage that way, but it still might be efficient and high mileage and able to fit through narrow gaps.
