DC was being hunted over to find the President and then they found a doorway in the basement of the White House. Inside they found a platform next to train rails. So it looks like all those “theories” about underground tunnels with high speed trains connecting different parts of the US was true. 1 theory had it that there was an underground 2nd US Capitol under the Denver Colorado airport. The guys could no longer believe that it was just a theory. After all the saying was “what's the difference between a conspiracy theory and the truth – about 2 months.” They believed he had taken a train to Denver and put out an alert to that area.

The President and a handful of his most trusted woke bodyguards had indeed taken the underground high speed train but it went to an unused coalmine in the Appalachia that had been shut down by the EPA just for that reason. But the stupid people had bought the reason as being for “saving the environment” when instead it was for the government's use. In fact the coal had still been mined and shipped out by the underground rail and sold to China.
And right now he was in the woods looking out across the field at some hick and his young wife holding a baby.

My computer internal hard drive is going bad or so says the notifications. I have a new one on order and maybe here by Wednesday. Computer keeps freezing and then shuts down. Then takes awhile to come back up.
This computer is 10 years old, so I guess it is considered a dinosaur. My stories are backed up on external hard drive.
So as you have seen, I'm in and out with short posts.

If you are running Windows, have fun jumping through all of the hoops to validate it after you transfer everything to the new drive. We'll be waiting when you get things going with the new drive. Not very patiently, but we'll be waiting. You know how hungry moar hounds get.

My computer shut off last night at 9PM and it was just a little while ago that it would turn back on. I am running 2 internal hard drives right now and disconnected 1 of them which allowed the computer to turn on but it is still having problems of turning off and then back on.

Not very patiently, but we'll be waiting. You know how hungry moar hounds get. You make it sound painful. Seriously though, if all that is being switched out is the drive, if cloning with something like acronis - there will be no need for validation. Easy peasy and takes less than an hour - with everything set up the way it was on the old drive (without the old drive issues). cloning even works when going from a smaller drive to a larger hard drive. Just put the new hard drive in to the computer, put the old drive into an external enclosure, and make sure to select the correct drive before cloning. Doing it that way will make sure the MBR is good to go.

Sniper69, I hope you are right. That's not the luck I have had in the past.
If it weren't for a few programs that I need for working on two-way radios, and my Kindle app, I wouldn't even run Windows at all. When possible, I run those from a Windows 7 virtual machine in Linux. Unfortunately the USB access to the interface cables from the virtual machine can be a real pain at times. It would probably be better if I had a newer machine with more memory, but that will have to wait a couple of months until after I move.

I do have a few windows machines in the house as well, and try to keep them running well. Usually when I swap out hard drives, it is to go from a platter to an ssd. Cloning drives has made the process very smooth. Even helped a neighbor clone a few for him and his wife. He always joked that I was working some sort of computer magic. lol.

I get to clone my 500 GB and 1 TB drives to put on the 4 TB soon. If I get the 20 TB, I will be setting up a spare computer as a server. That will make a great way to keep all of the computers backed up. Now if we can just get MOAR of the story.

Got my hard drive delivered, its an 8T capacity.
Now I need to work up the "nerve" to install it. I have never done that on my own, always hired it out. Figure I will have to completely shut down the computer, connect the hard drive, then restart?? Then figure out how to transfer Windows 10 over to the new hard drive from the other hard drive still in the computer, I run dual internal hard drives right now.

You might want to message sniper69 for advice. He has quite a bit of experience in such matters. If you clone the drive first, Windows should be taken care of in the process.

iamnobody - if you have two hard drives, is the one that you are replacing the primary drive (i.e. the one with Windows 10 installed), or is it a secondary drive? If the secondary drive, you can just plug it in, power on your computer, and once booted up, format the new drive for storage. The old drive could then be put into an external drive enclosure and files copied over. If it is your primary drive, you will want to have a program like Acronis true image (comes free with some hard drive "upgrade" kits, or has a cost if buying from the company). Or you can use clonezilla (which is free). Whichever one you use, you will want to have the software ready to go first. Put the new drive into the computer, put your old drive in an external enclosure, and use the cloning software to clone the old drive to the new drive (pay attention to which drive you choose for each step). For the primary drive - doing it with the old drive out and the new drive in will allow for the MBR (Master Boot Record) of windows to transfer without issue. If you clone it with the new drive in the enclosure and the old drive still in the computer, the MBR would have to be repaired (a pain in the butt to explain). With that said, if it is a secondary drive then it wouldn't matter which one was in the enclosure. Hope this helps.

The President and his group of bodyguards were thinking they could get some food here and some entertainment from the woman before they continued their trip. The man and baby would have to be disposed of. It wouldn't be the first time the President had taken a woman against her will and had disposed of the whole family when he was done.
Out in the field Jason and Barb had their baby out enjoying the sunshine. Of course he was stealing kisses from her and her giggles were making the baby laugh too. He was leaning into her from behind, kissing on her neck when he caught a glimpse of a movement inside the woods. It didn't remind him of a bird flying or deer moving. Continuing his nibbling on her neck, he intently watched the area where he saw the movement. Then he made out a man's face peering around a tree, then several other men.
Continuing kissing his wife, Jason used 1 hand to reach down and key the radio on his hip 3x and then 3x again as an alert. Whispering in Barb's ear that there were men in the woods and they needed to slowly walk back to the house while pretending to continue their lovey dovey as a charade so the men in the woods wouldn't know they had been seen. Once inside, Jason was on the radio answering questions of who gave the alert. She was busy grabbing things to take with her as she was taking their baby down into the basement for protection while Jason was peeking out the window, watching for the men.

My fingers can't take any more hanging on by the edge, have mercy Man. Sniper69 is doing his best to guide this computer illiterate (me) through my computer problems. I have more parts on order that should be here later this week. Until then, computer shuts down on its own for minutes or even hours. Then sometimes it turns on by itself. I will be doing something and it shuts down in the middle. I basically have to save document after every word I type or I could lose it.

As the MS was getting his men in position to respond to the alarm, Jason had his .308 rifle and had the man in his rifle scope. He gasped when he saw the face of the President staring back at him. He got on the radio and told the MS what he saw. The MS said not to kill him, that if all possible to take him alive for questioning. Jason told him that he had his head close to a tree trunk and if MS wanted, he could “bark” the President just like in squirrel hunting. Barking a squirrel meant when a squirrel was on a tree trunk and you had a large caliber rifle, you shot the edge of the tree trunk under the squirrel's body. The bullet would cause a large chunk of bark to smack the squirrel, rendering it unconscious.
The MS said his team was in position and if Jason was ready, to take the shot. Jason steadied the rifle, lined the cross hairs of the scope onto the tree trunk bark near the President's head and slowly squeezed the trigger. The lead bullet sped across the 200 yard distance, striking the tree bark right where it joined the actual wood, sending a large chunk of bark to strike the President alongside his head. The President, stunned, slumped to the ground as the Spec Ops team moved in and made short work of the several bodyguards. After making sure they were dead, they grabbed the groggy President.
2 Spec Op soldiers had a hold of the President, dragging him along as they headed down to Jason's place. Jason had told Barb what was going on and she and the baby were out of the basement but staying indoors with her weapon ready. Jason and the MS watched as the President's hands were tied and then he was hoisted up onto his tiptoes with a rope thrown over an overhead thick tree branch. The MS had a security detail out to guard the area and another 2 man team out roving to see if more enemy was around.
Someone threw a bucket of water into the President's face, causing him to sputter and look around in confusion. The MS stepped in front of the President and said he had some questions to ask. Coming to his senses, the President tried to put on the “better than you” attitude and said “do you know who I am, release me immediately.” The MS chuckled along with everyone else and said that they did know who he was and that now he was going to give an accounting of his actions as an employee of “we the people.” The President's face grew pale as the MS stepped closer.

"The MS chuckled along with everyone else and said that they did know who he was and that now he was going to give an accounting of his actions as an employee of “we the people.”"
And he won't be able to use any fancy accounting tricks.
Thank you for the fine chapter.
