When you use Word or some other word processor, do you use the "Auto-save" option, where it saves the document in progress every 10 minutes (or whatever interval you set)? Even the free "office" software implements this as writers say bad things about software when a computer problem causes them to lose hours of work :-(
Twice in the past week, I've had the quad core laptop so busy that it just went off into never-never land and the only recovery was the power button. Nice to have Auto-save active so I lost very little of the work I'd done in editing an old story to make it easier to read.
