Talked about buying a used class A motorhome a long time ago and on Thursday, bought one posted on Facebook. It's a '78 Mallard w/42,000 miles on the 454 engine for $3,500 and he wanted $4,500. LOTS of problems getting it from where it was at, to my place,,,,,as in somewhere around 15 miles or so away. Right steer has cracks/dry rot, so will replace both steers. Engine kept dying, so he's suppose to be out today to do a complete tuneup and probably replace fuel pump....at his cost. It is in good condition and would post photos but told website has exceeded its attachment service or something like that. Will post same message at Kaijafon's Chatter and hopefully post some photos there.

What do I remember about the 454?
Something about its passing ability...
Now what was that?
Oh, yeah.
It can pass anything on the road - except a gas station ;-)

Yeah, no doubt. And let's add a 4 barrel to it. Didn't CHP and other cop cars use 'em way back in the day? Seller's replacing fuel pump, both filters and air filter next Saturday. Takes that long for Auto Zone to get it. And found a Mallard owners manual that's on CD....525 pages which I will print. And after talking with brother via email, gotta crawl under the frame to check gas lines for possible rot. Seller told me he's had it at 90 and it's got a 80 gas gallon tank. Once some things are fixed, like new steer tires, will use it locally, live in it while on the property and maybe go to Yuba City/Marysville if 80's open so I can do some fishing. As it is, gotta get hoses to fill the water tank, etc. while also getting a hose for the dirty/toilet water. No propane bottle, but something big and square that you DON'T take out. Who knows.....mybe I'll take off for Oregon/Idaho to do some research before going to Florida. Full sized bed and couch slides out into another bed. If brother/I head for Homestead, he'll be sleeping on it. Told insurance runs about $125 a year for basic coverage. Any motorhome owners out there......or have I been volunteered to be everyones guineapig?

Hello, guinea. Welcome to the pig farm. ;-)
Saw a similar vehicle in apparently good condition (it's been under shelter). It was free but missing the engine - not a problem if you're looking for a hunting/fishing cabin ;-)
If I had that XX acres well off some county road, there'd be a place for the in-laws to sleep when they visit ;-)
Maybe look at the CD and decide how much of the "Open the curtains before operating vehicle" stuff you don't need to print?
Helps if the document is in .doc or .docx format and is easy to edit. Some older versions of PDF files can be opened in Word and then saved as a .doc file - something you can edit and just print the pages of interest. The laser printer has two-sided print capability - really cuts down on the number of pages to be hole-punched and put in binders.
