Finally finished "Care and Feeding of a Fiction Writer's Muse and Other Stories". It's now available: www.amazon.com/dp/B08C56251YIt has some things I posted about life with two muses plus some other muse items that never made it onto the forum. The "Other Stories" have all been posted to the forum. "Keep the Cool Inside" (still unfinished) "Daylilies" "The Elevator" "Peaceful Valley" "Replicator Food" "I Think I Can Do This" "Respect" It's up on amazon.com for the US but may take longer for other countries - typically complete within 8-12 hours.

Papaof2, I just finished reading "Care and Feeding of a Fiction Writer's Muse". I enjoyed it very much. You're a little warped, but I already knew that.

If not a bit warped, I'd never have been able to see some of the unpleasant things I've written about and also put them into semi-palatable words ;-)
I have a number of other stories where all I have is a chapter or two. Not unusual, as "The Elevator" started out with the scene of a guy waking in pain in a dark elevator but the rest of the story didn't come together until some months later. On the other hand, "I Hate Being Old" was mostly completed (86%) in the first 17 days - I did whine a bit about my hands (9000+ word days are RARE). One story (seemingly ignored by my muse after the first chapter) has the potential of many story threads (people and events) and more than one possible villain. Maybe my muse only had a 1,000,000 word warranty and that's now expired?
If my muse doesn't provide more inspiration in the next month or two, I'm considering putting at least one of those stories up as possible inspiration for someone else. I don't think I have enough of the bits and pieces to do another book of short and short-short stories, yet.

Maybe your muse is waiting on This year's crop of fresh fruits and vegetables. Get her a nice ripe juicy watermelon or cantaloupe!

We've had the strawberries and blueberries out for a while but she's either ignoring them or she's staying someplace else. I can't imagine either of the muses I've had not getting into fresh fruit, whether on, under or without vanilla ice cream ;-)
The dark chocolate isn't disappearing either, which is probably a good sign that there is no longer a muse in residence :-(
Maybe the predicted "Feels like 95F" and above this week has her / them hiding in some cooler place...
