but it's currently a real event for Georgia Power. They have an outage affecting 1600+ customers that was caused by a vehicle accident. They probably have at least one outage each week with that listed as the cause, but most of those affect fewer than 300 customers. Considering the location, the mix is probably 10% business and 90% residential. If you don't have power for the microwave oven, do you know how to manually open the garage door so you can go get a burrito - if you know more than one place to get burritos because the nearest place may be in the dark?
I like where my story is headed so I'll probably continue with it (my muses have been very good lately, providing more than 6000 words in one story over two days). My hands hurt from that much typing but it's nice when I sit at the keyboard and the words just flow ;-)
The vehicle accident power outage story isn't moving that fast but I don't think my hands could keep up with any more inspiration :-(
I do have treats available for both girls, from the orange Popsicles one likes to the Fudgesicles the other likes to the dark chocolate M&Ms and Nutella we all like. Speaking of food, it's been about five hours since I ate so I'm in need of nourishment again. The gall bladder surgeon's recommendation of "4 or 5 small meals each day" is a very positive thing at times ;-) "Yes, love, I'm eating again but this is only meal #4."

I would imagine that a good writer (such as yourself) could make an interesting story out of just about any incident.

Papaof2 - I am curious, you said the gall bladder surgeon said to eat 4 or 5 small meals a day - did you have your gall bladder removed? I had mine out about a year ago and no one told me to do anything different.

Papaof2 - I am curious, you said the gall bladder surgeon said to eat 4 or 5 small meals a day - did you have your gall bladder removed? I had mine out about a year ago and no one told me to do anything different. Because you no longer have the gall bladder to store up bile so it can dump in a large amount for digesting certain things, you may have to adapt by eating smaller, more frequent meals and you may have to avoid certain foods. High on the avoidance list since November are fried foods and white bread. Other than biscuits, we don't have white bread and I can count on one hand the number of times I had something fried in the year before I had surgery (other than certain potato chips - and I miss those). Carrots and celery are now high on my "certain foods" list because both dislike me ;-) A friend who had the surgery some years ago told me that your tolerance for things may improve over time. Meanwhile, I'm down to 4 meals most days, 3 meals occasionally but I have quantity limits that I must respect or accept digestive discomfort of some type later - for some things that's a digestive upset and for others it's just the extended "too full" or "just won't go down" feeling. And then there are the things that cause gas... Most mornings I fix some variety of oatmeal because it stays with you for a while but the servings are smaller than I would have had a year ago. I get pretzels or baked chips for a snack but it's usually in a small bowl so I know the amount is within my tolerance level, instead of getting the bag and stopping when I've had "enough". "Enough" may haunt me later :-( We had Christmas Eve dinner with family at a favorite local restaurant that's known for their "always enough to take some home" portions. I ate about 1/3 of the lasagna and took the rest home. I got to enjoy it twice more but the rich (lots of cheeses) dish didn't cause me problems in limited amounts. I'd probably cheat on the fried foods if we were in Chattanooga and went to Bea's (family style all-you-can-eat restaurant). They have some of lightest, crispy and not greasy fried chicken I've ever eaten. Might do that if we're at my wife's family reunion next year.

I eat pretty much anything but I do stay away from real greasy items as it does cause some issues.
