This recipe is from The Bee Folks (that's their name) where I get honey. They recommend Orange Blossom to Pepper honey but I like the darker honeys so I used buckwheat honey. We used Honey Crisp apples which are a mix of sweet and tart. Choose your favorites or try something new.
Apple and Honey Bread Pudding
Ingredients
2 Tbsp margarine or butter 2 cups non-dairy creamer or milk [flavored non-dairy creamer lets you add your choise of flavors] 5 eggs 1 1/4 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 5 cups diced bread (challah works well!) 2 cups peeled, cored, and diced apples honey to drizzle
How to make:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease 9x13 pan with margarine or butter Whisk together non-dairy creamer (or milk), eggs, sugar, and vanilla in bowl. Add bread and apples to egg mixture. Allow to stand at least 10 minutes to absorb the liquid. Place mixture in pan, and bake for around 30 minutes. Pudding is done when knife inserted in center comes out clean. Drizzle with honey prior to serving.
The challah is an egg-rich bread and adds its own unique flavor.
After the first bite, I decided that I could make a meal out of this bread pudding ;-) As in a famous TV sketch: "It has milk, eggs..."

Sounds good. I'll give you my PO Box and by tomorrow you can probably come up with enough dry ice and get it shipped. One batch a week will probably do, I'm sure. ;^)

We just try the recipes and evaluate them. As they say in math books: "the rest is left as an exercise for the student" ;-)
