Anyone watch "The Push" on Netflix? It just over an hour and will be one of the best but most disturbing hours you've spent. They use social pressure to have someone murder someone. They start with small little steps and gradually, in just 90 minutes cause a number (won't spoil it for you) of people to push someone off a building to kill them. (nobody was actually killed, the guy was wearing a harness).
You have to watch it.
It might also be a good theme for a story or two.

Considering how easily some people get sucked into certain computer games - and the number that buy/build faster and faster PC's so they can rack up more points faster, it shouldn't be hard to incorporate video of player actions (in an RPG) into the points system. Yo get 500 points if you cut off someone's pocket and get their wallet. You get 500 points for each $100 you charge on their credit cards. You get 1000 points for each hundred you get from an ATM. You get 5000 points for tripping the guy next to you on the sidewalk. You get 10000 points for running into someone with your bicycle - double points if there's blood and 5X points if there's a broken bone (teeth count). 100,000 points for cutting off someone's finger, 250,000 for cutting off a hand or foot. 5,000,000 points for a killing with video of cops and EMTs and the person being declared dead at the scene.
Does that seem like a workable progression? Should we add side bets bitcoin, real money) between other players and/or the key player?
Am I scary enough yet?
