It would be nice to see a sequel maybe set about 5 years or so down the road just to see how the kids have grown

The kids in the story ate a lot of PB&J with the peanut butter mixed from powder and treated to some of Jack's spices. People really do spice their peanut butter ;-) If you've never made your own peanut butter (or other nut butter), here's a recipe. This one is savory - like Chinese "Sweet and Sour". It also has options of other spices if you're not into the stronger flavors. If you don't want to make your own peanut butter but would like to try PB&J spiced to your taste, Costco sometimes has powdered peanut butter and most of the LTS suppliers also offer it. Source: healthynibblesandbits.com/five-spice-peanut-butter/print/12289/Five Spice Peanut Butter 5-ingredient peanut butter with sweet maple syrup flavor and savory notes of five-spice powder. Makes about 1 and 3/4 cups. Author: Lisa Lin Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 20 minutes Total Time: 25 minutes Category: spreads, vegan, gluten-free, snacks INGREDIENTS 2 and 1/2 cup raw shelled peanuts 1 and 1/2 TBS maple syrup 1 and 1/2 TBS melted coconut oil 1/2 to 1 tsp five-spice powder (depending on your taste) pinch of salt INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 350ºF (~177ºC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Spread the peanuts on the baking sheet in a single layer and bake for about 10 to 12 minutes, or until the peanuts start to brown. Once the peanuts are done, let them cool for a few minutes. Place all the ingredients in a food processor and blend until you see a creamy peanut butter consistency. The coconut oil is necessary for making the peanut butter creamy and spreadable. Store in a jar or airtight container and refrigerate. NOTES Substitutions: 1. If you can’t find raw peanuts, just buy a bag of unsalted roasted peanuts. I would still put it in the oven before mixing to give the nuts the additional roasted flavor. 2. If you don’t have any coconut oil, just add vegetable or olive oil instead. 3. Cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin spice, and apple spice are great substitutions for the five-spice powder. Friday, 10 December, 2:20AM I'm sure all these things have been done by one or more of the current President's "non-partisan advisors" - the people brought in when he, his party-line advisors and his "carefully hand picked" Cabinet proved to be too ignorant and/or too incompetent to keep the Ship of State from sinking. Of course, the argument for bringing the others in was "more diversity at all levels and in all areas of government". Right! Their words to cover his ass. He's not that capable or creative. This segment of the original story was posted 16 Aug 2016. I think this quote might also be valid by or before 16 Aug 2021.
