Somebody put this up on my FB page so I copied and tried. Hubby loved it. I've only made this once and with ground beef but I want to try it with ground turkey and chicken.
Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls soup
1 pound ground beef 1 Tablespoon oil 1 large onion chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1 small cabbage, chopped 2 cans diced tomatoes undrained ( I used 1 big can instead of the 2 smaller ones) 1 can tomato sauce- 8oz 1/2 cup water 1 beef bouillon cube salt and pepper to taste 1 cup uncooked rice ( for a less "soupy" recipe. I used instant)
Cook onion in oil until tender; add ground beef and brown. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until cabbage and rice are tender.
*notes*
I used instant rice but you can use long grain or even wild and just cook it until tender. Again use the rice if you want a lesser soupy meal.
the recipe didn't use any herbs which is silly. I used some homegrown dried basil and oregano
If using ground turkey or chicken substitute a chicken bouillon cube

Thanks! I always like simplifying recipes, I make a similar lasagna in that I use rotini noodles and mix everything together (including lots of cheese) before baking.
