His muse left him in the midst of an issue and I'm waiting on her to make up her mind or to nudge me further... Have most of a next chapter done for over 2 months but I keep reading, rereading, making tweaks and not quite sure how to tie it up nor where to take the next piece.

Hope to read more of your fine story.
In regards to driving in Alaska, we were blessed to to live up in Fairbanks twice.
First time in the mid 1970s. Dear husband was a laborer in the union. He worked up in Prudoe Bay. Then again in the early 1980s.
That time he was based out of Fairbanks and commuted daily 120 miles up the haul road.
His crew all chipped in and communally bought a 76 slant six Plymouth Valary and they took turns driving.
They drove the haul road in both mud, dust and ice season.
The station they were overhauling did not have accommodations for crews staying on site. Thus they drive every day.
Nice hunting on the haul road.
