The better half was in band through high school and in those high school years, the band was at every football game. She's watching the Georgia-Alabama game at the far end of the house but I can tell when Georgia isn't doing well: there's a string of "No! No! No! No! No!" ;-)
No, I'm not watching "the game". It's a major event for some people, as the grocery store was out of most ice cream and chips today. I long ago decided that most football wasn't worth my time. That happened when I was given tickets to one of the charity games in that city - always a "big event". No one interested in going with me. I'm sitting alone in FYBO (Freeze-Your-Butt-Off) weather and came to the conclusion that there was nothing to be gained by sitting there for three more quarters. I walked out to my '57 Chevy, got the heater going and went home. Other than being at some high school games because our kids were in the band (I got volunteered to be the unofficial band photographer), I've spent very little time watching guys toss a rolled up cow patty across a pasture since then...

High school football team manager for 3 years and got my fill then, and with the NFL getting woke I never watch them anymore.
