A bill to remove the Georgia's 29.1 cents/gallon tax on gasoline and diesel went to the Governor today. That's a little less than a 7% cut at the current $4.23/gallon for unleaded regular, bringing it down to $3.95/gal at current prices. Will the gas stations pass that along to their customers? There's a $15,000 fine for price gouging if they don't pass it along. How can the legislature do that? Easy, when the state is running a surplus this year.
Currently that would end 31 May but the end date can be extended.

Local price changes after their mid-day fuel deliveries. Unleaded up from $3.89 to $4.09 (at 5 stations). Diesel still at $5.19 (at 4 stations).
As long as your driving gets two weeks to the gallon, the prices aren't too bad. If you need to fill up weekly - it's probably painful.

Out of our little unincorporated backwater location in a remote corner of our county and into the fringes of Atlanta for PT today. Unleaded there was $4.59. Diesel was $5.49. Need to be sure we fill up here before going there :-(
Been reading some JDY fiction and thinking about some of the "What would we do if?" events. Can't possibly cover all the what-if evants/situations but we're good for most of the "dig in and stay where you are" things.
A neighbor's parents are visiting in their Class A motorhome(and towing a Jeep for local transportation). The neighbor's significant other has been parking his car on our back drive (goes by the equipment shed and then to the basement) so he can get out and go to work. If I knew the visiting parents better, I'd ask for their opinions on what private, paved, shaded, off-street parking is worth by the month and see if they'd banter up my guess (currently it's free, but old retired guys still gotta eat and that might be the easiest money I'd ever make ;-)
