These are average prices across the country so they would not show the lowest price in a given area - which could be appreciably less (or more) than the national average. One station at $0.15 and another at $0.25 would average out to $0.20 - as would $0.13 and $0.27. The national average is good for a year-to-year overall trend but having prices from a specific area of interest would also be good - and come closer to matching our memories :-(

I worked part-time at a station and remember it at .15 I certainly believe that. During the gas wars in the early 70s, the station where I worked sold gas as low as $0.129 per gallon. Normal price was around 29 cents per gallon.

The governor's suspension of state gasoline taxes expired today so most of the local stations are up $0.30/gal from yesterday.

Far Northern California gas last week in Eureka at Costco 4.79 regular, local Indian Rancheria gives a 25 cent per gallon discount and was 4.69 regulat before discount. Propane 4.39 a pound. Regular stations around the metro area 4.99. Gas is much cheaper than the summer high of 5.89 a gallon. Of course our prices are higher due to green taxation.

Caution: /rant on
"green taxation" - I think that's just a different way to write "stupid politicians" or maybe it's "stupid voters" who elect anyone who promises them something they want.
The "green power" plus the "EV vehicles only" laws are obviously at cross purposes for those of us looking in from the outside with no axe to grind either way - I really don't care what California does except that their ignorance, incompetence and/or stupidity about "green energy" being available 24/7/365 in unlimited quantities may eventually have them begging for a bailout from the taxpayers in the other 49 states.
In my "threescore and ten", I've seen far too may politically supported fads (such as California's pursuit of energy perfection) that fall into the non-functional category of the saltwater battery of a few years back. Goes along with the CA legislator who wanted to mandate solar panels on every roof - some would only be useful if you tore down the taller buildings around that site and/or cut all the surrounding trees which someone else in the "green" movement would block.
Too many poorly (if at all) thought out ideas that can't hold water. If something happened to Hoover Dam, the desert areas of CA and several other states could revert to their "natural" desert state. Aren't there people in CA who want everything to be "natural" and for no one to trim trees or clear forest floor debris but then they scream about the wildfires they've nurtured? That's a prime example of "green" translating directly to "stupid".
If you're trapped in CA, I wish you luck in getting out before that house of cards collapses.
Many years ago, a friend took a job in TV in CA and he called me tell me how great things were and that people with my skills were being paid twice what I was making in the southeast US. I researched the cost of living where he was versus where I was and calculated that I was much better off where I was because my "half as much money" bought 20% more where I was than the same dollars would where he was. Needless to say, I'm still in the southeast US.

unl $3.09, diesel $4.09 costco unl $2.49
At $0.60 gallon difference, it might be worth the 12 mile round trip to costco to fill up.
in 90210 unl $4.33 to $5.93, diesel $5.69 to $6.99
I did a very smart thing when I told the guy I had worked with that had moved to CA many years ago and had called to tell me how great the wages were there, that I wasn't moving from the southeast US. And that was long before CA went totally "green stupid". Unless they can breed herds of unicorns that can be taught to fart in sequence and on command, their wind farms will never deliver continuous power. Wonder if the light from burning those farts would be bright enough to power the solar farms?

Just got back in town last night, so not sure when price jumped up. Regular unleaded price jumped up 30 cents per gallon in the last few days.
Was $2.399. Now $2.699.
Naturally I had a nearly empty tank. I don't normally let it get that low, but a family emergency caused me to go out of town unexpectedly, not in my vehicle. Otherwise, I would have filled it Saturday night.
