Having seen comments on Youtube from people concerned about buying a cart of food at Walmart or the local grocery and then having someone trying to take it away from them, I looked for an easier way to get groceries. Most (not all) of Walmart's grocery products are available online with free delivery for an order over $35. Some items are pickup only unless you're a member of Walmart+.
In looking through canned meat products (ravioli, tamales, roast beef, beef stew, etc), I found that the two nearest Walmart stores were hit-and-miss on about half the products being in stock for pickup (no point in listing specific items unless you live within a few miles of me and you read this within an hour of it being posted). Some of the more distant (possibly larger?) stores, had those items in stock. There are also items that a search finds which have "Free delivery" on the search page but are "Pickup only" on the item's page. Be sure to check carefully on each item of interest.
An order placed at 11PM on 4 August would be mostly delivered on 8 August, except for one item not delivered by Walmart which would be delivered on 10 August.
As of this check of online ordering, walmart.com has canned ravioli, canned roast beef, canned Swiss steak, canned beef stew, canned chicken and dumplings and cornbread mix available online with free delivery ($35 or more order). In about 10 minutes, I found $56 worth of shelf stable items which would provide some variety in our menus and be quick and easy to fix. If you took a can of Swiss steak, heated them and cut them up, then poured them and their gravy over rice, you would have a hearty meal from one can of meat and two cups of rice (or potato flakes or even oatmeal). Add a can of veggies and you can feed four people. A little creativity on your part will likely produce other "pantry to stove" meals which need very liitle prep beyond opening a can and heating. That might work well if you're using a Coleman stove or a rocket stove.
No guarantee of what will be available in your area of the country when this is posted or in my area in another 24 hours. This is a relatively safe place to shop if you don't get mugged bringing the boxes in after they are delivered - but probably safe enough if there is someone who can be the armed guard while someone else brings the food in: from a distance, a pellet rifle with a 'scope might be intimidating - even more so with a green laser pointer on it ;-)
What can you put together in 10 minutes spent in the walmart.com grocery section?
