I am older than dirt and have been reading these kind of stories of decades. I love them. When I got into amazon unlimited reading I thought it was the greatest thing in the world. I have read so many that I have no idea of how many. At least 2 or 3 a week.
Now though, amazon has become so infected with trash books that it is no long er of much use to me. When you look at the book covers you can see that they must all be illustrated by the same guy or program. They look almost identical. The stories themselves are the same way. So.....
I have come back to the heart of these stories, and Proboards is part of the heart. Stories written by people with real ideas and opinions that are enjoyable. Many of them I have read more than once.
So I thank all you writers out there for your ideas, time, and the pleasure you have given this old man.
Glad you've found your "roots" ;-) There are a few writers on Amazon who produce "readable to the end" PAW fiction but I have more than one book that I dropped at 3% or 5% read. However, I know I'd enjoy reading "Deep Winter" again.
My stories are being produced much more slowly in the past 7-8 months. Can't imagine why I've slowed down; after all, little things of getting old such as gall bladder surgery, thumb reconstruction (CMC arthroplasty) and something odd in my red and white blood cell production that the doctor doesn't yet have an answer for and will be taking another pint of blood from me this week for further testing shouldn't have slowed me down, should they? ;-)
