Placed an online order at 3:15PM. USPS had the package in hand at 4:52PM. The folks in Putney, VT know how to process an order.
Perhaps not the cheapest place to buy maple syrup by the gallon (free shipping at this level), but you can't beat the service. Maple syrup keeps indefinitely when frozen so we'll have two frozen half gallon jugs in the freezer to keep things cold if commercial power goes down ;-) We have a quart jug in the fridge and an empty quart jug in the pantry. When the quart in the fridge is emptied, I thaw a half gallon jug, fill two quart jugs and the freeze one quart while the other quart goes in the fridge.
Life is short and uncertain - have dessert first or pancakes with fresh blueberries and real maple syrup for breakfast ;-)

They also have the extra dark grade A syrup for about $2/quart more.

Just a little maple syrup poured over vanilla ice cream was about the ultimate treat when I was a kid.

Maple syrup over vanilla ice cream might still be a unique treat for a kid who has never had it ;-)

Be nice if USPS could meet their commitments - original delivery date of 8 Aug. Then "Delayed in Transit" (in Metro Atlanta) and it left the Regional Distribution hub at 1:06AM on 10 Aug for a trip of less than an hour - and 24 hours later it is still in transit for that last hour.
If'n ya don't think we're out in the boonies, that oughta tell ya how important we'uns and our mail are to USPS...
