I've been tracking a package from China for a couple of weeks (not unusual) and it departed the Atlanta Regional Distribution Center on 5 July at 12:42PM. That's usually a less than 3 hour trip to our local Post Office (between the "departed" scan there and the "arrived" scan here), so it should have been part of today's delivery. Anything that gets to the local PO by 5AM is sorted and delivered that day, so they had 16 hours from the time the truck left the Regional Center. However, the current status is:
July 6, 2020 In Transit, Arriving Late Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility.
Ever wonder how a truck of mail gets lost in a 30 mile trip?

Latest update:
July 6, 2020, 11:53 pm Departed USPS Regional Destination Facility ATLANTA GA DISTRIBUTION CENTER Your item departed our ATLANTA GA DISTRIBUTION CENTER destination facility on July 6, 2020 at 11:53 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination.
Did the truck drive around the I-285 perimeter highway looking for the right exit for more than a day and then return to the Regional Center or did they scan the package on 5 July but never get it on the truck?
Considering their logistics fumbles, I think they've hiring rejects from Lowe's - the people who couldn't deliver a riding mower 30 miles in 2 weeks.

Actually, package volume is maybe 3-4 times normal. Carriers had no time to get ready, as opposed to the known Xmas rush. Ask you UPS guy if he ain't havin' fun right now. The guy that does the route up here in the hills has been draggin' butt for weeks. A week ago Thursday he clocked out so late that he was actually into the contractually-mandated triple time. When you won't let folks out of their houses to work and shop, then give 'em money for entertainment, they spend lots of time on Flea-bay, Amazon, Wish etc.
