Ever see an item at a fleamarket or on Craig's List and wish you could find out its history? A probably late 19th century piano was posted on the Atlanta Craig's List (you'll find things from the Alabama state line to Gainesville on that list). The piano has the "Made in London" (as in England) maker's mark and has two candleholders mounted on the front of it. The person giving it away once ran a B&B and the piano was puchased at a fleamarket strictly for "atmosphere". I'd like to know who had the buck$ to import a piano from England before electric lights were common in the US. Where did they live? What work did they do? Doctor? Lawyer? Banker? How many piano tuners were in town? Someone should be able to create at least one story about this piano ;-) www.jecarter.us/files/old-piano.jpg
