Having gas at $1.50/gallon really doesn't matter much when I'm now getting three weeks to the gallon.

Sounds like me. About 3 mi to Costco and the grocery store is closer.

Grocery is less than a mile and unleaded is $1.50. The station whose pay-at-pump may or may not work is about a mile beyond that is at $1.39 today. Costco is 6 miles the other way and $1.45. I have plenty of stabilizer and a 12 volt fuel transfer pump (new, in the box; friend gave it to me when he was downsizing), just need the storage capacity to go buy a couple hundred gallons... While I might store 55 gallons of kerosene in a plastic barrel, I'd rather have gasoline stored in large metal containers (considering the plastic barrel when I start treating all the 2.5 gallon plastic containers with Pri-D next week - yes, it's in the listed Pri-D uses; 2.5 gallons needs about 1.8ml so I need to get some 5ml syringes, maybe order online from Tractor Supply if I don't have any left from other projects?). Should have gone to Trade Day at Collinsville the last time we saw family in North Alabama as there are almost always some 100-200 gallon fuel tanks available... Don't think we'll be seeing them on Mother's Day this year.
