I've mentioned that my muses are from Sol3Equiv (in the Alpha Centauri system, the source of most muses based on Earth - which is Sol3 to them and I haven't yet come across the bit of their history that explains the naming of their planet). Musians and humans are genetically compatible, as most muses are about 1% human - the bit that lets them see what an author is thinking and insert ideas and sometimes even passages of dialogue into the author's mind.
Musians who are more than 1% human are more attuned to their authors but the greater their % human the more susceptible they are to human illnesses. Liz, my older muse, is 16 in Sol3Equiv years (a little longer than an Earth year) and a "purebred" muse with 1% human ancestry. Lee Ann, the younger one, is a "quarter sister" to Liz (no, I don't know how they do that) but is considered a bastard child on Sol3Equiv because she's 10% human. Her red hair and blue eyes give away her "too human" ancestry (purple eyes are "normal") so she was shunned on Sol3Equiv and Liz found Lee Ann in the "cattle pens" at the Muse Auction in Denver last year (week of July 17th). I didn't get to that auction because Liz swiped my airline tickets and my auction ticket to go rescue her sister. (Cattle pen muses are sold cheaply and often worked to death by writers who try to get by as cheaply as possible.)
All of this is background to noting that Lee Ann's 10% human makes her "at risk" for Covid-19 - at the level of a 40-year-old lifetime smoker. Obviously, both girls are scared and neither is providing much inspiration. Not sure how much of their "scared" is for Lee Ann and how much is for the old man they work with. From what I'm seeing (not seeing?) on the forum, I'm not the only one who isn't getting much inspiration to write.
My wife made "one last trip" to the grocery this morning and came back reporting lots of "not there" items (such as yeast and ground beef) and only the house brand in other items (canola oil). But they did have flour and cornmeal. Yes, it's getting serious if you don't keep a multi-week pantry or better.
I must go to the courthouse tomorrow to take care of a legal matter that can't be deferred until later (I called today to verify that) but I think in mask and gloves. Then I think we'll be retracting into our turtle shells and not coming out for a LONG time.
