Yes, But please write it before the elections happen so we will know exactly how it unfolds. Solo Sorry to disappoint, (but not really). The important thing to know is not exactly how it is going to happen. It is far more important to know why it is 'all going down the tubes'. The answer to that why is because 'we' have collectively put our hope in governments run by the right people to fix the troubles in our society. There is only One who is truly fit to rule us, yet most who claim to follow Him still put their hope in mere mortals to make it all right. Let that thought sink in and then ask yourself who you are actually putting your trust in.
PB
That is so very true. I don't usually get too worked up over elections one way or another; I am more impacted by everything that has happened since last December beginning with the Saudi Student shooting up my building at Pensacola NAS and most recently Hurricane Sally. Keeping focus on Him has actually kept me sane this year. Solo

With the polarization of America, there will be more shootings across America leading up to the election, during the election and after the election. If you are not armed, get armed and carry. Friends.
This seems to be a very popular story.
I decided to read a bit and see if I liked it.
A couple of paragraphs in, I remembered that I had started and dropped it before—right in the 1st chapter.
The reason is simple, the Protagonist is buying foreclosed property. Buying foreclosed property anytime, any place, is being a Carrion Eater who profits on other's misfortune.
I have a major hatred for Property Tax. Property Tax means that no one EVER owns a piece of ground free and simple. No, they just Lease from the Hated Government and anytime they can't raise rent—or refuse to pay rent—they get evicted.
I don't know why so many Freedom-Minded people get SO INCENSED {But hopefully, not Incested} about Income Tax. It is TOO HIGH and may be Unconstitutional in Principle—but unless you want to go pure Anarchy, you will need to finance the Government SOMEHOW. I see nothing wrong with an Income Tax in PRINCIPLE.
If you want true freedom, you need to eliminate Property Tax; Eminent Domain and Zoning Laws…
Then, if you ever manage to save enough to buy a piece of ground, it will be yours and your heirs' FOREVER AND IN PERPETUITY unless someone is stupid enough to sell it.
Anyway, when the Protagonist made use of Property Tax Foreclosure, it made me dislike him to the point that I no longer cared to read about his further adventures.

Ease off, RVM45. Property taxes pay for fire and police services, schools and other useful things. If you live 20 miles out from Pebble, AL have no children, never use the County Hospital and never call for the County Sheriff, then perhaps county taxes are a burden. Otherwise, those who purchase property without knowing what the taxes will be are as ignorant as those who buy a fast car and then discover they can't afford the insurance.
Income tax has become a "We can give 'free' <whatever> if we raise taxes on <whoever>". It seems the current crop of Congresscritters (and a generation or two before them) have forgotten the cry of "No taxation without representation" which took down King George. We've had one or two 'wanna be' kings and the current Presidential race certainly seems to have a "We're gonna tax the air you breathe" candidate on one side.
Perhaps it's time for Liberty to hang some treasonous people from lamp posts?

You have a point worth considering RVM45. I do understand your anger. I have personal experience with the government exercising Eminent Domain to confiscate family land, then using Zoning Laws and local ordinances to kill a family business and render property useless, while continuing to tax that now 'useless' property. There are many reasons that properties get foreclosed and all of them are symptoms of a system going far back into history that reflects 'man dominating man to his harm'(a paraphrase of Solomon's assessment.) Here is something to consider. When the foreclosure is for a tax debt, the property is taken from the original owner by the state. If no one bids on that property, it remains the property of the state. By bidding on the property, the nominal control over the land is at least being taken back away from the Beast that killed the previous ownership. In this way it has a chance to be made useful to a real person rather than remaining under the control of the nebula of constraints, restrictions, and misuse imposed on 'Government land'.

Post # 27 Get Out The Vote!
“Bill, you heard the message just like I did. We can't let them win this election. It has been stolen from us more than once, already. We will not let that happen again! You and I have both been keeping ourselves masked ever since the first time they pirated the results. We played the roles, shouted the right words, kissed a lot...well we have done what ever was necessary, even when it turned our stomachs, to get where we are in the wrong party's honor list. All of that disgusting act was so we could be trusted to cast the 'real votes'. We finally made it. Now is not the time to worry about the penalties if we don't follow the rules created by this regressive, backward state for how we should cast our votes. They scream about the constitution, but in this case that aristocratic, archaic piece of paper allows us to do just what we are supposed to do; cast our own vote, not theirs. This is just one more state that says all or nothing when we meet in December to vote for a president, but that is not what the constitution says. If we don't quite carry this state, it won't matter. It is the votes that WE get to cast that really matter. We will cast our votes for the right man, or woman heh heh heh, no matter what. Everyone knows that is the way it should be. We're just helping to make things right...” Ed listens for a moment to his friend on the other end of the phone conversation. “Don't worry, about that Bill! We already have lawyers and a judge lined up to force the state election commissioner to report the votes as cast, even if they cite their state laws negating our votes and report their so called corrected and official votes from the alternate electors. That way when Congress counts the votes our people can argue for accepting the votes cast by our team and throwing out the corrected votes. Besides, once our man gets in, he will pardon us and block any action the state tries to take against us. Like the message said, 'We can't lose!'.” - - - - -
“Here's the plan. We've all seen what happens when there are enough demonstrators that are worked up and ready to fight. The police are told to back off. No one is ready to have a war in the streets. So this time WE are going to get everyone we can to the voting places early. Pack your cars and minivans. As soon as you vote go to your designated intersections and start celebrating our victory. If people stop or even slow down to watch and read our signs, that is our ticket to move into the streets among them until the traffic to the voting sights is totally blocked. Wave your signs, Wave your arms. Wave your flags. Dance in the streets. The cops don't want to be seen arresting people who are waving the flag. They know where their support comes from. The important thing is for all our people to vote early. Those undecided and uncertain or too lazy to get up and vote early will be left out. If your employer tries to make an issue of not letting you and those who think like us get off work to go vote, threaten to call the television station and report that they are trying to influence the election by suppressing the vote. If any of you spot a bus full of the wrong kind of people heading for the polls, stop them. Lay down in the street if you have to, but don't let them get through. I'm not telling you to puncture their tires, mind you, but buses don't drive well with flat tires flapping around. The goal is to to keep the traffic jammed up so those who are having last minute doubts or who are being gathered up like sheep, late in the day to tip the votes will fail.” - - - - -
“You listen to me, Carrie. The laws of this state require you to certify the results of the election after the Canvassing Commission reports the results to you. If you doubt the validity or veracity of what they report to you, it is your duty to exercise your judgment and report to the Secretary of State what you believe are the true election results in our state. That is the law. That is the very purpose of your position in the state government. I think you can handle it, and I believe you will do the right thing when the time comes. - - - - -
I called you in here to make sure we are straight about how this election is going to go in our state. The law in our state specifies that the Governor, Secretary of State, and State Attorney General will canvass and certify the votes of our citizens for President. Jesse, the one thing you must remember, until the moment we report the results, is that I am the Governor. Not one word is to be spoken hinting at probable or even possible results until I have certified what we will certify. Is that clear? No matter how close or wide the margin is or seems to be we will not have another fiasco like Florida had twenty years ago. That whole situation could have been avoided with the exercise of just a little more control by Florida's officials. We will be professional and strictly adhere to the chain of command.” - - - - -
“Mr. Governor, We have a problem. The Election Canvassing Committee has been meeting regularly to assure their processes for the election will be smooth and clear to everyone.” “So, what is the problem?” “Sir, they are very dedicated and wanted to execute their responsibilities, and that seems to have interfered with their responsibility to watch their personal health. Several members have tested positive for the virus and the chairman of the committee has been hospitalized. The state law is very clear that only the chairman of that committee is allowed to certify the voting results. The law is also clear about the process to replace the chairman. It requires confirmation by a special caucus of selected legislators, and there must be an equal number of members from both parties on that caucus. There is not time before the election to select and convene that caucus. Frankly, I don't see how we could get a nominee that is acceptable to both parties in the current political climate even if we pull together an emergency caucus.” “Jimmy, hold my beer. Ha, ha, ha! This is exactly why a politician like me makes unexpected compromises from time to time. It is also the reason I need a big budget for private investigations to find out what people in the power structure are doing that is questionable in the public's eye. This is my golden opportunity. Our state is shaping up to be a swing state in a tight race. And now I have just the opportunity that I need to call in favors and twist some arms, so I can swing this state's vote in just the right direction.” “But, Governor, how can getting a new chairman of the committee approved swing the votes of our state?” “Jimmy, your uncle warned me you might seem a bit naive, but that you would prove trainable and loyal. Let me spell it out for you. Politics is not about democracy. That is just a label that catches the public's emotions. Politics is about power and knowing how to wield it to gain more power. The vote in our state will be very close. Some votes may prove to be illegitimate. Others may get temporarily lost or overlooked or even counted twice in all the shuffling and counting and verifying that goes on. If our state, being a swing state, swings the right way, I will soon have another powerful IOU in my political pocket from those who truly understand how the system works. You stick to my coattails, Jimmy, and you will learn how this game is played.” - - - - -
“Well folks here we are at Election Outlook for the United Broadcasting Network. This is the place to be to get the very best of election returns. We have spared no expense this year to create the most scientifically refined methods of gathering and evaluating the election returns as they come in. We have retro-tested our new algorithms against data gathered in the previous five presidential election returns to verify their predictive accuracy. You have our pledge that we will be able to tell you accurately before any other network the ultimate results of this hotly contested election. But, remember we are only telling you what you are telling us. It is you, the Great American public, that will ultimately decide who will win in Election 2020. But, it is our faithful listeners watching the United Broadcasting System, that will know first whom the American people have chosen for their next president.”

Of course in my story I left out direct references to how easy it can be for an unethical, skilled programmer to hide the code in vote counting software that can flip votes in significant numbers to a different candidate than what the voters chose.

That's not news to this old programmer who got the nickmname "the Wiz" from other members of the "Skunkworks" team I was on for several years. Corporate, not political, but in either environment the numbers to be manipulated are just numbers. What did we do? - If your corporate support staff says something can't be done, call us. Easy enough to only flip 5%, 12%, 23% or whatever number gives the candidate a margin of victory. However, we would never have done something obvious like having an entire county or state voting for one candidate - there must be a few on the other side.

My dear Friends, Maybe I should be apologizing for not having written more for so long, but with all the ... stuff... going on my muse was not amused. Now, I am sorry for than horrible pun. I was in fact stuck, not being sure how to proceed in this story.
Truthfully things for me have been more than chaotic for the past two months, and my son-in-law getting a positive test result and my daughter showing positive symptoms are only part of the many troubles just this weekend.
My so called "muse" woke up a few minutes ago regarding the next installment and where it is going. So, I will be composing a new installment this week, I hope.
In the mean time, please stay alert and don't grow weary of watching and listening on the watch. It is easy to get distracted by all the noises around us these days and miss those critical sound that point to real dangers. Stay safe my friends.

Sniper69, Thank you, so much, for your note of concern. Yes, My beautiful bride and I are doing amazingly well, and are more "in love" than we ever before thought possible. It is hard to believe that I have not posted here for almost a year, yet in ways this past year seems it has lasted several years long. There has been so much going on, it would be pointless to specify any of the particulars. I still remember posting that my muse had waked up, but I never got to spin more yarn with that muse.
I will admit that it did a number on my head when again and again last year I was writing about a new development in my story, only to see it being too close to the real news by the time I posted it. I mean, I really had no inkling when I posted the story chapter on "Get Out The Vote" what was going to come to light over the next few months in the real world. I guess it is time for me to poke my head up again and peek "out of the shadows." I will try to spend a little more time working with my muse now that I have survived the first wave of bio-warfare and calmed myself about the reality of the challenges that are now standing on our doorsteps.

I just spent the last few days reading thru this story... I'd read the story and look at the date posted and think... it's like some sort of horror movie, what he writes seems to come true.
PBB It's an excellent story and also bone chilling in a lot of ways. I wanted to see if your muse has surfaced or if you think this story will be left as a cliff hanger where fantasy sort of rolled out to reality.

Post # 28 Too Quick or Too Slow! Pete had been trying to connect with Ruben, from his congregation back in Beaver Creek, to help him find one of the Brothers in the area where he and Joann had settled. The nearest congregation of theirs was over an hour away, and that was a real issue with the current prices on gasoline. Pete was certain that those prices were going to rise significantly before long. With everyone in there little group of three families in the woods having quit their paying jobs, they were going to need to be even more cautious about limiting expenses. The telephone reception at their site was almost non-existent, and soon it would not make since to continue paying for wireless service for their phones. Pete had taken to writing somewhat lengthy text messages then taking a short excursion to a spot where he could get reception before sending the message or messages. Ruben had been good to respond fairly quickly when he could, but he also had to do some digging trying to find a way for Pete and Joann to stay connected to their religious group. It seemed the best he could do was to give Pete a phone number where he could dial in and listen in on their meetings, but that made it difficult for Pete and Joann to actually participate in the bible study discussions. Finally Ruben managed to get the name of a Brother whose last known address was near Pete and Joann. He had last been active in a congregation that had diminished in size until it had been merged with that congregation which was over an hour away from Pete. That Brother's name was Jorge Escamilla and his address had been listed as simply “Bug Scuffle Road” with the name and zip code of somewhat nearby Post Office. Pete asked around in a couple of the nearby towns and discovered that Jorge was a school bus driver. However, with the changes in the classroom options implemented because of the Virus epidemic, fewer students were physically attending the schools. Pete learned that because of this, the bus routes had been consolidated and Jorge had been dropped as an employee. Pete then went to work to find where “Bug Scuffle Road” was. Pete did find Bug Scuffle, and he found Jorge, along with Jorge's wife, Estrella, and their three young children, Raul, Silvia, and Gabriela. Jorge was scrambling to find a job, but those were not plentiful in this sparsely populated county. The Escamilla family was living in a very old trailer on a wooded piece of property where they were paying five hundred dollars a month to an absent landlord for the privilege of parking their trailer there. They had no utility hookups but had managed to cobble together ways of managing their needs for water and waste disposal. Their electricity needs were dependent on a group of solar panels and a cluster of old car batteries. They also had a small wood burning stove that Jorge moved outside during the summer and inside during the winter. Jorge was very excited to learn that Pete was a “brother” and that he lived only a few miles away. It wasn't long before Pete offered to let Jorge move his trailer to the little enclave that was collecting on the land Pete and Joann had found. No one voiced any concerns about Jorge's family being there in spite of the extra mouths to feed. He had brought his own dwelling and at least a small supply of food. More than that, though, he had brought his experience in living without utility hook-ups. Of course Pete and Joann were thrilled that they now had a “brother and sister “ living close at hand. Silvia and Gabriela were much too young to be included in the home schooling being provided to the Boatwright children and to Carl and Colleen. Truthfully, so was Raul, but he was allow to tag along and watch (and be watched) with the older ones anyway. The adults had an informal discussion about the food issue since it was already into the Fall season. Estrella and Jorge knew quite a bit about more than the others about growing cold weather garden crops in this area. The winters here had some spells when it got pretty cold, but some of the hardy green crops along with the root crops could produce year round with just a little help and care from an experienced gardener. They also were very familiar with harvesting nuts that grew naturally in the forest, but were normally not available in grocery stores. Making it through the winter without depleting their cash was a challenge for this group of off-grid newbies. Early on they had bought all their food and spent a lot on gathering supplies and equipment to try setting up for the long haul of staying off the grid. Their lack of experience had turned into a real problem when coupled with their rush to get things set up very quickly. They had been functioning in a reactionary mode rather than having things well planned and efficiently executed. When they took the time to get their heads together and consider their combined cash flow and the progress they had made, it was an humbling and somewhat troubling epiphany. There were also concerns cautiously shared about whether they had over reacted to the recent events in their world outside the forest, or if they had correctly read the early signs and where those were pointing. Joe and Cathy Boatwright were continuing sources of feedback about what was happening on the outside, and also they also provided a very small bit of income to the group for taking care of their children. The distance from their jobs and home made it hard some days to manage delivering and retrieving their kids to the “home schooling” site. While their kids were always glad to see their Ma and Pa, it was also clear that the idea of staying in the forest through the night, with their other family was very appealing. They fully realized that the work of tending to a homestead did not start and stop at prescribed times. Unfortunately, the news from the “outside” seemed to be always changing and always troubling. even after the big election brouhaha began to quiet down the political tension and attitudes presented in social media were very unsettled and the tensions kept rising. Even when things did settle down about the election results, the contention and anger of one group toward another just got worse. First there was the vicious hostility back and forth between those who considered themselves the winners and losers of the political battles. Then there were claims and counter claims of censorship in the media. When that issue lost the edge of public attention, new divisions were created to stir up divisions and hatred regarding public health issues. During the Fall Pete had been having a weekly Bible study with Rob, and soon Carl had joined them. Carl had a lot of questions related to what he was hearing about the turmoil on “the outside” and his questions about that had always been met by his grandpa with an attitude of calm coupled with a sense of “that is exactly what we should be expecting, isn't it?”. Colleen had also asked Joann if she could have a Bible study with Joann helping her along. The Boatwright kids had noticed Joann and Pete stopping to have individual study time with Colleen and Carl and asked what they were studying about. The Boatwright kids eventually mentioned this to their parents. Joe and Cathy could tell their kids were interested even though they didn't come right out and ask if they could join the studies. This led to more questions from Joe and Cathy for their young ones. Then they had a talk with Pete and Joann about what kind of Bible study they were having. Skunk Hollow where the Boatwright family lived was a tiny community. It was essentially a few houses scattered along a country road along with one store and two gas pumps. There were no churches within sight of the store. There were a couple of small church buildings hidden away down some of the gravel roads branching off the paved county road. The signs outside them had long since weathered beyond being readable. Most of the people in town couldn't even tell you if anyone was meeting in them on a regular basis. They decided it would be okay if their kids were included in the bible studies Pete and Joann held as long as they were voluntary and not a requirement for them in order to be home-schooled. In late January during a hunting venture into the woods Jorge discovered a stream in a small valley that had been hidden among the trees. The water well they had been using did not always supply water at the rate they were using it. During one spell when they went without rain for a couple of weeks the electric pump they had been using ran dry for a day and had to be replaced. Since then everyone had been even more careful about conserving water. Jorge was very excited about this new source of water, but his excitement was initially not shared by the others. “Jorge, that's really good to know about a backup source for water if we get in a pinch, but it is a long way to haul water uphill, and to pump it would require more drain on our electric supply. We have to consider the cost of fuel to run our generator, and I'm afraid we will be seeing higher fuel prices very soon. Still, it is good to know we do have an option to consider if our pump goes out or he are forced to cut back on generating electricity of the cost of fuel rises too high.” Bruce had a lot of experience as a manager in showing appreciation for new ideas that just wouldn't quite work out like the person who raised the idea thought it might. “Yes, Bruce, that is the point. Now we can get our water and save on electricity.” Jorge was still excited. “Of course we can carry water from the stream, but that is a slow process carrying it one bucket at a time up the hill. That would take a lot of additional effort and time out of someone's day, don't you think?” Rob was joining the discussion and trying to think reasonably about this idea. Jorge was quiet for a second. “Have you ever heard of a … Stream Pump? Or maybe you call it a Pulse Pump?” Now others were gathering around listening to the conversation. There were some looks passed back and forth, but none of them showed any recognition if the device Jorge was naming. Jorge continued. “They are used all over the world, where electricity is limited. It uses the water pressure from the stream water to pump the water up a hill or up into an elevated water tank. It uses no electricity, just water pressure to drive the pump.” “But, the stream you found is not big and it is at the bottom of the hill. How can it have enough pressure to get the water up here?” Carl was now intrigued, but clueless about how this pump might work without electric power. Jorge was familiar with how to put one together, but he had to think back to remember the explanation for how it worked. “Water does not compress. If you shut a water valve gradually that is not a problem. If you shut a water valve quickly it causes a shock wave.” “You're Talking about a water hammer effect. Right?” Now he had Pete's attention. “Yes, it causes a hard shock inside a closed pipe if a valve closed suddenly. So you get two one way valves and turn them opposite directions.” Jorge could tell they were not making the connections without seeing this kind of device at work. “okay try to follow me on this. You place a catch pipe or driver pipe in the stream or a small pool up stream a short way. The water flows down stream into the pump assembly. On the pump there a one way valve. As the water flows through that open valve the one way flapper is pushed closed causing a shock wave inside the pump. Also on the pump is another one way valve that keeps the water you are pumping up hill from flowing back into the stream. The shock of the up stream valve closing is enough to briefly open the up hill valve pushing a little water through before it closes. The repeating pressure change back and forth between these two valves captures and advanced the water up the hose or tube lifting it up the hill. The stream keeps feeding the energy from the water in the stream to keep the machine pulsing. It may sound confusing until you see it work, but it works. Even a stream with a shallow slope can lift the water several hundred feet if it is constructed right.” “Okay, Jorge, you've got me interested, but how much would a sophisticated pump like this cost?” Pete was constantly weighing the cost of any additions to their conveniences. “Oh, no, Mr. Pete. We do not need to buy a pump like this We can just put one together with a few pieces of pipe and pipe fittings. The two valves will cost about $25 or $30 each. The pump is very simple in design. It has to be placed in or very near the creek. We will need enough hose to reach your water tank and one length of pipe to reach a few yards up stream from the pump. Because of the pulsing we will need to anchor the pump down so it is stable. It is really not that hard to make. Come with me. We can decide where to place it and walk through the layout. Then tomorrow we can go to a store with basic plumbing supplies and I can show you how the pieces fit together and how they work.” Jorge started them out looking at where they had placed the water holding tank to collect the well water. It was currently on an elevated deck so it could use gravity to deliver some water pressure to the plumbing they had installed in the pole barn. Work had begun to build a cabin, but it was not finished yet. “Okay, everybody. The creek is on the other side of the ridge over there to the east. The ridge is higher than the top of the water tank, so if we can pump the water to the crest of the ridge it can simply flow down hill from there into the tank. So lets head toward the ridge and take a look at the creek.” There was now a sizable troop including the teens and some of the younger ones following as Jorge traipsed toward the ridge. When he got to the crest, he stopped to wait for the others to catch up. “Now, you cannot see it from here because of the trees, but there is a small creek running between this hill and the next. Watch your step, but walk with me straight toward the creek so we find the place where the creek is closest to our water tank.” Jorge was now moving more slowly and carefully down the hill and through the trees. As they got near the bottom of the hill several of the children called out when they spotted the flowing water. The group finally stopped and crowded near the edge of the creek. “Now, kids, look up stream and down stream. Do you see how the creek is gradually getting lower at one end. That is why the water flows down stream. It runs from a higher place to a lower place. We have our water tank up on a stand so the water will flow down through the pipes into the barn. That is how we get it to spray out of the shower head. The weight of the water pushes it down through the lower pipes.” Jorge looked over at Carl, Colleen, and Jack. While the water is sitting high in the tank it has potential energy – energy waiting to be released. When we open a valve the water coming through has kinetic energy – energy in motion. We need to run a pipe up stream to a higher spot to capture the water's potential energy. Down here at a lower level we can then harness it's kinetic energy to power our pump. That pump can then lift water up the hill so we can fill our water tank.” Jorge tried to field all the questions that came to him. Some were about how the water pressure from only a few feet of elevation in the creek bed could lift water all the way to the top of the hill. Others were about the construction of the pump itself. He promised them that it would be easier for them to understand once the pieces were in place and they could see how the pump actually operated. Plans were made to drive to Lawrenceville the next day where there was a store with plumbing supplies. {Friends, there are many designs and variations for this type of pump to be found online, including a number that are produced commercially. Most can be found with a browser search for “Ram Pump”. Here is a link to one design. patriotrampump.com/ }
