 Primaries
« Thread Started on Jan 24, 2012, 10:33am »

OK so with 3 small states having their primary so far that represent less than 3% of the population of the U.S. we're already down to half the GOP candidates that started -- how does that represent 'the will of the people'?
No offense meant to Iowa, N.H. and S Carolina, but they're really small states with no major cities, not exactly main stream America.
To me all primaries should be the same day or at least the same week.

There are so many problems with the Political System here in America, that a minor glitch in the Primary process hardly seems a major concern.

First of all--getting elected to any office requires certain characteristics and abilities.....

But being good at running for Public Office has little or nothing to do with being qualified to fill one's position well, once one has won the election.

Americans--most Americans--are not stupid as individuals. But Modern Day group dynamics have created an American Public that functions like a Gullible, Simple-Minded Fool with little or no ability to learn from experience, or even remember much for very long.

This Rube will tend to vote for the fellow who flatters him the most, promises him the most goodies, and offers him the most ingenious Rationales as to why his "Everyone gets Rich; never mind paying for it Scheme" will work.

Of course, you lose Beaucoup points if you breakdown and laugh while spinning these Phantasies.

The would-be Politician too rigid and honest to tamper the truth, or at least exaggerate, in order to get elected, generally gets voted out of the political system very early in his career.

Another Issue: The Civil Service Bureaucracy has become a Juggernaut that tends to continue on its merry way, regardless of who occupies the Elected Offices.

There are other problems.....

But even if there weren't, these seem nearly insurmountable.

Even granted dictatorial powers to reform the American Political System in any manner I chose to.....

I wouldn't have a clue how to set up something better.....

And I urge you to be very suspicious of anyone who claims to have the answers.....

Odds are overwhelming that he's a Cracked-Pot and/or a Scam Artist.
